It seems like pushing it back would only make conditions worse. It'll be just east of Monroe St 12pm Saturday. At midnight, it'll be in a little SW of Oxford.

This just seems dumb to me.

Moving to a 7:30Pm kickoff is due to ESPN

6:30pm central time kick. So only an hour and a half later from the original 5pm central time kick.

This whole process has been so colossally dumb that it could only be driven by TV/money IMO.

I’m sure ESPN is pushing some agenda as far as tv slots and it’s holding everything up from being adjusted based on weather and safety.

Is the heavy rain and wind on Friday night different than the heavy rain and wind on Saturday night

I expect it'll be worse on Saturday. Moving it up makes more sense than pushing it back.

I never thought I'd say it. But I'd like to see it on Friday night. There isn't shite happening nowadays. Might as well do it Friday at 630-7.

Could’ve played it tonight and no one would’ve even seen a drop of rain.

On Friday night I believe you have NBA playoffs, Louisville-GA Tech, and possibly an MLB playoff game, so it’s possible that ESPN wouldn’t want to compete with those things? (Not that they all have the same viewing audience, but whatever)

Looking at the current NHC forecast track for Delta, they have the center of Delta (by then a tropical depression) near Oxford at 7pm CDT Saturday evening. So right now I don’t really see how this move helps.

It doesn't. Just sit back and embrace the ensuing mess.

As others have stated, the whole process has been incredibly dumb...just move the game to Tuscaloosa...with basically no fans in attendance, the logistics involved in moving the game would have been very manageable...

observing the predicted path it totally makes sense to move it to Tuscaloosa as the LSU game was moved to Missouri. They should do that sooner than later.

Y’all will work it out.

The only program you have to worry about in these situations is florida.

Yesterday winds at game time Sat. night forecasted 10-15 mph, now forecast Sat. night 35-45.

I am 40 miles from the coast and our peak wind forecast is 42 mph sustained winds for a couple hrs. No way in hell you all have 35-45 mph sustained winds. Maybe gusts that high. I would be more concerned with lightning delays

It only feels wet and cold if you're sober...at the stadium or in your house.

If the center of whatever is left of Delta comes close to Oxford, winds of 40+ mph with even higher gusts are possible.
I expect tornado warnings all over the viewing area from Friday pm till Sunday am.

Yeah. But I have work. And I don't handle hangovers like I used to. And I also like to get a little psilly after the game.
