Name another fan base that wished they got Pittman. None. No one wants such a terrible coach.

He hasn't coached a game yet, no one knows if he's a terrible coach or not.

I'm still scratching my head about the Arkansas hire. Pigs hired a guy that has never called plays in his life.

And he still won't be so he hired an OC that has been a Broyles award finalist to call plays

Just the fact of you thinking that should make both feel better than ever. At least they aren’t John L, Brett, and Chad bad

The Democratic Party is dead in Mississippi. I think Leach will be alright.

Arkansas fans claiming that Kiffin was interviewed, and passed on for Pittman. If that's what happened your AD should be fired yesterday

I think each school got the right coach to fit what their needs are.

We'll see.

I also like Mike Leach and I think he will get some converts politically from the conservative African American community in Mississippi. But it only takes one or two whiners to cause major trouble, and that's probably coming sooner rather than later

But hell the quicker Leach gets fired then that's the sooner I can vote for him for Congress so to that's a win win

There are so many things to unpack from such a short set of sentences

It’s more likely that neither of the Mississippi schools will be good, ever. It is Mississippi.

Howland is tired. Leach is not. He will win as much as Mullen did.

Hunter Yurachek had a better offer than ole miss and kiffin was going to accept. Jimmy sexton wanted to squeeze more money than what was asked. Hunter was angry and pulled the offer and kiffin took less money from ole miss.

Leach interviewed before kiffin was in the picture and it didn't go well at all. He wouldn't be a good fit here. It makes you think why other SEC schools didn't hire him in the past besides miss st.

You can believe it or not but that is what happened. Yuracheck wasn't a fan of sexton. He wasn't willing to bend over and take it in the arse like other ADs that would beg to do so.

Yet your AD had to be super careful because you ended up giving away a lot of money for those past head coaches that failed to get the job done and those expensive buyouts!

Winning at Ole Miss and Miss St is difficult. If your definition of success is winning the SEC west they are not going to do that.

I do not really care about either program. I suspect they will be 6 and 6 most years with an occasional 8 and 4 and an unexpected win. It is completely unrealistic to expect Kiffin or Leach to have great recruiting classes this past year. Also unrealistic to expect 8 win seasons.

Yes they could both be 4 and 8 in 2020. Probably will be better than that.

Leach and Kiffin are upgrades to the SEC as coaches

That wasn't the case. Pittman was campaigning for the job from the beginning. The offer fell through on late Saturday December 7, 2019. Pittboss was offered and accepted the next day. Then Sam was announced later that evening.

Sam pittman wasn't qualified but still kept himself on the list. He was relentless. Kiffin and leach showed interest but leach fell through because the interview was bad. Kiffin was the big target but Yuracheck was told to talk with bigger names.

Matt Thule and Matt Campbell were contacted but showed no interest. Other names were talked a bout but nothing more than rumors at that point. Kiffin was still Hunter's top target.

However Jimmy sexton threw a wrench in the fan. Hunter was tired of dealing with sexton and decided to give the job who wanted it more, Sam pittman.

Arkansas didn't have a lot of realistic choices and Lane Kiffin was a decent option.

I don't blame sexton for doing his job but it is up to the AD to not let agents screw them over and Hunter isn't going to approve someone that isn't worth the money.

They do play Arkansas every year so at least they each can count on 1 conference win a year
