Because it was a great season and most sensible folks can appreciate how difficult it is to just make Omaha! They overachieved and had a great run!

They did good just getting there, I think the issue is that once they did, they had the easiest path to the championship and couldn't win a game.

Talking trash before a game or after you win is one thing. Trying to do it after a team that swept you is eliminated from the playoffs that your team wasn't good enough to qualify for (because you lost twice as many conference games as you won) is something else.
