Ben Simmons went to LSU because his godfather was an assistant coach here, it was someone he was familiar and comfortable to be around, being he was from out the country.
He would have gone #1 overall regardless if he went to Duke, UNC, UK, LSU, UGA, Georgia St, etc...He didnt specifically chose LSU to further his pro career afterwards.

Pretty obvious this is what Burrow was doing, he wasn't getting playing time, he came here to get playing time. There's very few grad transfer football players out there going anywhere to play school instead of get their draft status up, obviously.
All that being said, pretty clear Joe is having a helluva time at LSU, I'd say

He only has one post in two years that somewhat acknowledges the fans.

Joe doesn’t care about LSU fans or students, he just cares about his image.
When Burrow decided to come to LSU there was a story written where he had a quote of something like he was using the next 2 years as a job interview for the NFL. He would take classes but he was there to learn and play football. He didn't hide shite. What he didn't see happening was the state of Louisiana embracing he and his family in such a short time.
My wife and I had dinner with Jimmy and Robyn Burrow via some friends a few months back and I can tell you that the whole family is all in with LSU. We tailgated together for the Auburn and Florida games he his 100% one of us now. He'll be embedded in LSU's culture for eternity.
