Define good? 8-4 (4-4) with a trip to the Liberty Bowl or contending for the west?

Sounds like a typical Aggie season

Imagine if you lost everyone possible to the draft to the point where you have

3 offensive starters returning
6 defensive starters returning

Then devonta smith, your 2 best d-linemen, and your #2 corner to opt out. Then Mac Jones gets a season ending injury.

But it’s JaMarr Chase so it’s even better than Devonta Smith

I imagine we wouldn't go 3-7 and get lose all our meaningful games by double digits. Pretty positive about that, actually.

Also, I doubt we'd run around all offseason telling everyone who would listen that there would be little drop off and that everyone who expected that was stupid and/or SCARED.

Seems to me Alabama had something similar occur but Alabama went on the win the NC anyway.

Its not an excuse for how crappy we've been but Alabama has never lost 40 players from one season to the next.

The uproar that 2019 LSU has caused on this board is priceless. Almost better than the championship.

You guys literally ran around all off-season explaining how stocked the roster was and how Ensminger really ran the offense last year and how "ACTUALLY A LOT OF OUR OFFENSIVE LINEMAN PLAYED A LOT LAST YEAR".

None of you expected to be this terrible. None of you expected to be outside the Top 25. Very few of you expected to lose more than 2-3 games. Clearly nobody expected to go 3-7 with losses to State and Missouri. Acting as if this is normal because you lost a bunch of players, especially when many of those were known and LSU fans were STILL running around telling us how dumb we all were for saying it would be really tough to replace, is laughable.

Your head coach is reliant on hiring good coordinators to function. He does not have good coordinators right now. If the same 2 coordinators are around in 2021, it's insane to think that LSU will be any better than "above average".

Alright, I’ll bite. Do you think we lose to MSST, Missouri, or even A&M if we have Stingley, Shelvin, Ika, Vincent, Brennan and Chase for all 3?

It seems to me Alabama lost A LOT of starters after the 1978 NC year, but like I said I do not keep up with that

You absolutely still lose to Mississippi State. Probably not Missouri. No idea about A&M. Shelvin because fat and Ika is only functional in very specific games and situations. The offense would have been better with a healthy Brennan and Chase, but they were still extremely choppy with a healthy Brennan and were terrible on 3rd down.

So, all those guys stick around, LSU goes....5-5 (MSU, Auburn, A&M, Bama, Florida)? In a regular SEC season that would be 3-5 in the SEC (all those 5 were on your normal schedule) and 7-5 or 6-6 overall (depending on the Texas game). That's still awful for a team coming off a title.

LSU will definitely be better next season, but whether they get back to being a serious SEC and National Title contender comes down to if Eaux makes better hires at coordinator. The ones he has now are not Championship material. And he as much as anyone needs high-level coordinators.

I disagree strongly. I think we beat MSST even with just Stingley. Their top WR had like 150 yds no chance Stingley allows that.

Ika is fatter than Shelvin and Shelvin is WAY better than you are giving him credit for. Both are quite good.

If we have Stingley, Flott, and Vincent in the secondary against MSST we would not lose that game. I’d love to hear your argument as to why we would.

I think if we have Stingley, Brennan, Chase, Vincent, Ika, Shelvin I think we go

7-3
MSST - W
Missouri - W
Arkansas - W
Vanderbilt- W
A&M- W
South Carolina - W
Ole Miss - W
Alabama- L
Florida - L
Auburn - L
