7 years 16 million per is a ridiculous offer. If that what it takes, no freakin' way. Go and get Golesh or whatever.

I will tell you now that if LSU gets him that I don't think it will be worth that much money. He was not my number one choice. I do not believe that he is a championship coach.

You don't think Lane's potential is worth more than most coaches making that now? I know his paycheck will mostly be based on potential but that is how things work.

I will tell you now that Lane isn’t worth 14 million a year. However LSU and Florida have put themselves in a situation where that’s what it’s going to take. If it turns out that he decides to stay at OM then Sexton successfully played all 3 teams and drove up the ridiculous price tag to create his “Mona Lisa.”

I hope we pull his new offer and tell him his existing contract through 2031 is good enough. I really just want him to go. He fricking sucks.

I’ll say it now. He’s not worth the $13m-$16m that’s being tossed around

Lane is a good coach, but those numbers are insane.

Sure bud hahahaha. We have all been reading your posts. You may be one of the most shook OM fans on here. You may be tired of the BS , and maybe Kiffin has pissed you guys off so much with all of this that you can’t enjoy a remarkable season, but you would drag your bare arse over broken glass to keep him. I’m guessing that your “He sucks” comment stems from here and not his abilities as a coach.

If he wins he’s worth it. Chances are, he doesn’t win at a level you guys expect.

I never thought I’d see the day A&M was “reasonable” with coaching contract. But here we are. Both Indiana and A&M got better deals. Real winner so far is Virginia Tech.

He's high risk high reward. He can win a lot and keep you (but especially himself) right in the national conversation.

Can he win enough to get a championship? Remains to be seen. Honestly, I'm not sure what motivates Lane, but he has an inherent restlessness.

The majority of their fans and their AD Verge Ausberry have stated that they expect LSU to make the playoffs every single season. Despite the fact that no team has ever made the playoffs every season. And despite the fact that LSU has made it one time, ever. And despite the fact that LSU has finished ranked in the top eleven 26 of their 132 seasons. And despite the fact that Nick Saban would have only made a 12 team playoff 2 of his 5 seasons at LSU. Despite that, LSU believes they should make the playoffs every single season.

Their expectations are completely insane. They will never find a coach that meets them.

LSU thinks every coach is "the one"

Statement makes no sense.

Every school thinks every coach they hire is "the one". If they didn't, why would they hire them?
