So why did no one else pick up on the investigation?

I don't know. Maybe someone did pick up the investigation, after Jenny Wright was fired, the article doesn't say, nor would it say. The girl in question was not a UT student, so maybe they weren't allowed to interview her.

I wish I knew more, but I don't.

UT probe finds no evidence of inappropriate relations

ASSOCIATED PRESS • JUN 6, 2014 AT 8:36 PM

KNOXVILLE — A law firm hired by the University of Tennessee to investigate whether a former school official had inappropriate relationships with student-athletes has issued a report saying it found no evidence supporting the allegation.

But the 28-page report released Friday by the university also says both Jenny Wright and another person refused to cooperate with the 13-month investigation into the specific accusations. The law firm of Kramer Rayson also found no evidence that Wright retaliated against an unnamed person through her role as student affairs judicial director.

"Although there were rumors that Jenny Wright had relationships with football players, the investigation revealed no evidence to support such rumors," the report concludes.

Wright, who headed the Office of Student Judicial Affairs, handed in a letter of resignation but was fired in May for refusing to cooperate with a university investigation into whether she was having relationships with student-athletes. She said university administrators harassed and pressured her. She also had said she was accused of retaliating against a student-athlete and initiating the disciplinary process to suspend him from the university.

Now we know why she refused to cooperate with UT. They were gonna bury her.

She's the one that isn't in a blue sorority shirt.

Though they're cute enough.

Maybe but I don't think it was because all information just kind of ends after Wright stopped.

Tennessee never disclosed rape allegations against 2 athletes

quote:

What neither Jones nor the university disclosed was that Lane's suspension came four days after an 18-year-old high school student accused Lane of sexual assault in his dorm room.

quote:

Lane was never arrested or prosecuted after the accusation and police investigation.

quote:

Lane was reinstated to the Vols less than two months later, after missing four spring practices and the Orange and White game, a scrimmage that marks the end of spring practice. Jones at the time called Lane a "success story."

quote:

Lane, now a member of the Vols' 13-man player staff of team leaders, called his return to football "a big turnaround." And running back coach Robert Gillespie noted Lane had "learned from his mistakes, and he's done a good job of putting those behind him."

Lane... the dude that force a high school girl to perform oral sex on him and then pulled her pants off and raped her per the OP... apparently he is a 'success story' because he did 'a good job putting those (mistakes) behind him'.

Yeah... that won't get UT in trouble...

Like I said, I don't know. However, the police were doing an investigation, as they should have been, and they also stopped their investigation per the alleged victim's request to not pursue charges.

I don't know if the University is even allowed to interview a non student, or if she declined to be interviewed. There's a lot about this case that is unknown.

Why the police department didn't investigate the girl's claims that she had also been assaulted by her uncle/family is also perplexing and very troublesome to me.
