We had a few reallly bad games

Especially Ole Miss

We’ve u derqchieves hut I think We turned a corner after an embarrassing game against Ole Miss and getting healthy at a few position.

Talent is there. Coaching is there. Had to wait for it to all come together.

Demonstrates how insane our offense is by NCAA standards.

Damn look at how many defensive snaps LSU had compared to some of the rest.

I know that a lot of Alabama fans used to say that fast paced spread offenses affect a team's own defense. Now, since our own team is running that type offense, our defense in fact isn't as good. A lot of us blame Golding, but I think the type offense does indeed affect the team's defense.

Apparently offense wins championships. We will see.

Not sure how reliable those numbers are? We saw how great Georgia's defense was in the SEC Championship game.

rules now favor the offense so much that I don't know if dominating defense and conservative offense will ever be consistent title contenders again

Defense has been playing much better since Delpit has been healthy.

It took us a while to get going. A lot of teams moved the ball on us. I said from the start of the season, it's growing pains with this new offense.

Was that indicative of our defense or LSU's offense?

Also, it matters when you are missing your top RB and 3 of your 4 top receivers. Tends to make your defense stay on the field longer. I am not taking anything away from LSUs offense. I think LSU would have won the game even if we would have had our whole team, but I don't think it would have been quite as bad.

Yeah. They struggled early. But interesting stat from Chris Marler (SDS)

LSU is ranked 56th in Total pass ypg allowed (221.9)

However...
- INT - 5th (17)
- Opp. QB Rating - 7th (111.37)
- Opp. Completion % - 2nd (50.8)

That's impressive Opp completion %.

Growing pains? Looks like LSU grew up in less than a year, then.

I get what you are saying, but LSU went from having a mediocre offense to a full blown hurricane really quickly. The transformation is startling.

Ya, if only LSU could be as dominant as San Diego State’s D. Whatever. Some people are too stupid to be handed metrics.

when your offense scores in 3-4 plays, and defense has to trot back out there, they must face a large number of snaps. Thus, they will give up more yards.

No. Not at all. Seems like an odd response to my post.

Clemson and Ohio State are able to have both a high powered offense and a great defense.

It does stress your defense more if you rely on the pass and have a quick strike offense, but it can be done.

Alabama's problems on D seem to be a combination of injuries, youth and a couple of recruiting misses.
