Because it sucks so bad and is so contrary to the lead character that it actually takes away from the series as a whole. Same thing was done to Star Wars.

Still seems like a stupid reason to not be able to say you’ve seen every single 007 film

I still haven’t seen and refuse to watch No Time To Die.

Why?

It may be at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to 007 movies, but if you’ve really watched 97% of them why not finish it off and watch all of them?

You think that poster actually understands why BB basing Puerto Rican would prevent him from being harassed by ICE?

Most jet aircraft use bleed air from the engines which is ducted to and blows hot air across the critical surfaces.

So does ice only accumulate on the wings at low levels or the ground?

No. You need two things for ice to accumulate. Visible moisture and a surface near or below freezing. This can happen at any point on the ground or in the air.

I would think there is a danger at high altitudes where it’s very cold.

There is, but most aircraft that can fly that high are equipped with some sort of de- or anti-icing equipment to prevent or shed ice buildup.

quote:

Could the pilot see the ice from his window or walk around inspection?

The pilot doing the walk-around noticed ice buildup. That’s why the crew decided to get Types I (de-ice) and IV (anti-ice) fluid before takeoff.

quote:

If ice accumulated on one wing, it seems like this tragedy could have been pretty easily prevented.

Once you’ve been sprayed with the above mentioned fluids, you have what’s called a “holdover time” which gives you a certain amount of time to takeoff before the liquid is no longer effective.

It’s too early to tell if ice was even the culprit here, and if it was there’s a multitude of reasons why they still crashed after getting sprayed.

JFK (New York): Runway 13R/31L is often cited as one of the longest on the East Coast, around 14,500 ft, primarily for heavy cargo/long-haul, notes Aviation Stack Exchange and Bigorre.org.

While this is true, not many 91 or 135 carriers are going to choose JFK for a fueling stop. That’s some of the most congested airspace in the world, and fuel prices at the FBO are astronomical as a deterrent.

They were only in Bangor for an hour. I have no knowledge of icing on planes but would only being at the airport for an hour cause alot of ice accumulation?

Depends on conditions.

If it was raining and temps were below freezing, absolutely. If they landed in icing conditions and temps were below freezing, it was probably still on the critical surfaces, despite no precip falling.

There are a lot of factors that could’ve caused an icing situation.

Bruh, it’s warranted.
That’s a nice story. We need more of this on the OT.

Well, except for this part…

Covid created the invention of NTI days and we have had them every year since.

Anytime the weather is bad they make it an NTI day.

Timing they got right. But amounts are a different beast.

We’re already 6” of snow over what they predicted where I’m at currently and a foot under at the house.

However, the ice amounts are going to be much worse. And that’s the problem with winter weather riding along a warm front. Impossible to know exactly where the rain/snow line will wind up.
