Besides baseball and basketball how would that help our athletic program? Ships in sports that don't matter? Cool. And soccer is a club sport btw

Having your program on National TV (just about every NCAA final is on ESPN) as absolutely often... is a good thing. Alabama Football is practically as good as an NFL team when it comes to marketability and brand awareness so the only way to make it bigger is to get EVERYONE in on the act.
Besides, ONE title in baseball and basketball would be a megajolt in moving them to consistent winners. T&F, if Arkansas can do it... why not us? S&D.... if Auburn can do it...why not us? Volleyball and Soccer... they're hot.
Also, no other school other than Florida, Texas and USC have elite teams across the board and still maintain Football juggernaut status (TX and SC are down but you know what I mean). An argument could be made for Stanford but their FB has nowhere near the prestige yet.
