4 football
2 basketball

(Getting one in baseball would be cool, but IMO not worth giving up one of football or basketball).

Only six?! What I do is kick my athletic PR dept in gear and dig up bullshite "national championships" from the 1890s.

How about I trade 2 titles to get the 2011 BCS title back from Bama?

That leaves me with 4...2 more for football, 1 more for baseball, and 1 more for basketball.

Since Tennessee has never won the tournament before, I'd certainly give at least one to basketball, even without the rule in the original post.

It would either be:

Football-3, Basketball-3
Football-4, Basketball-2
Football-5, Basketball-1

I like football more, but I may give basketball 2 or 3 because it would probably do a lot more for the program.

I know people will disagree, but I can't fathom giving one to any sport other than football and men's basketball.

To each his own. However, if an athletic director came to Tennessee and turned the football and men's basketball program into powerhouses and all the other sports were dead last in the SEC, I'd still consider him to be an exceptional athletic director. If he came in and won the Capital One Cup year after year but still couldn't find the right guy in either football or basketball, I'd want him fired regardless of his other success.
