Notre Dame is a catholic school with the largest bandwagon fan base in the nation.
They get a lot of support because they are Catholic. My uncle was a Catholic and loved Notre Dame but yet never attended the university or ever went to a game.

If you just go by the Numbers it would be Ohio State at 11 million and Notre Dame at second with just a little over 8 million.
