They are the 133rd out of 133 teams ranked in total defense. Arizona put up over 600 total yards, including them chewing clock for a quarter and a half and Montana St put up over 550 yards.

At least Thorne has plenty of company under there.

Did Auburn even make a run at Cam Ward?

Freeze has long said that Thorne is the better qb. Looks like the yella fella started pulling strings again. Business as usual down on the plains

New Mexico is without question the worst defense in the FBS.

Was Thorne that bad?

He was pretty bad last Saturday, although there was plenty of blame to go around.

I remember last year he was advertised as having a low ceiling but also a high floor.

He broke through the high floor, so I think it makes sense to try the up and comer who looked pretty good in the bowl game.

After watching them blow that game* to montana state i have no faith. If auburn loses that game freeze should be fired on the spot.

Well, at least they only lost to New Mexico State by 10 last year.

It doesn't matter who their QB is with that dog shite OL.

Maybe he stopped recruiting for it or premier OL prospects avoiding that type of offense, but Gus didn't sign many blue chip OL recruits he last few seasons. If Harsin recruited any, he left them hanging outside the airport baggage claim. And Freeze hasn't had the time to develop any that he has signed.

Thorne looked great against Alabama A&M. Auburn fans were excited. Against a team with a pulse, Thorne looked like arse. Auburn fans were sad.

Against New Mexico, Brown should look great. Auburn fans will be excited. Against a team with a pulse, Brown will look like… I think I have seen this movie already.

Doesn't matter. Diego Pavia has Freeze circled on the calendar.

OL’s not as bad as advertised. RT was playing hurt which lead to one of the sacks, and Thorne was holding the ball too long on other plays.

With that said they’ve had to shuffle around to deal with that injury so I’m not sure how that’ll work out

Unwilling to throw to green grass. Got hit a bunch. Moves out instead of up in pocket.

Good runner.
Ok arm.

Some of it is scheme and lazy execution by some backs and receivers.

Aaron Murray broke things down recently. The offense does not appear to be well thought out and the check down guys are not crisp in their assignments was his general opinion.

I heard Walker White hasn't been practicing much in fall camp. Just a rumor I heard(family related)

Would not have done it this way. Start Thorne and after halftime get the new kid in the game. Even if the barn terrorized the Lobos, as they should, it says nothing about Brown. Now it is going to be hard to get back to Thorne once adversity hits in SEC play. And hit it will.

Freeze is tone-death with his QBs. Should have slow-played it.

So Saturday I expect New Mexico defense to play like a hybrid of the 1985 Chicago Bears and the 1992 Alabama defense.

Thorne’s issue seems to be mental. It’s probably best for him to take the stress off for a week. If Hank Brown struggles just take him off the bench like a relief pitcher.

But Freeze can recruit!

Maybe Auburn is simply cursed at quarterback now because of Cam Newton.

When your issue is mental, it's best to have easy success to build confidence. Seems to me, benching him in the 2nd half against Cal to help him get his head right and then setting him up for success in this one is the play.
