No, Rivals assigns a 2* rating to players deemed to be "mid-major" type guys according to their website. An offer from UF and UGA would have been more than enough to give him a 3* rating.

They just wanted to be first? I can't see this ending up as a good move for them. People will do anything it takes to think they're in first, and that is pathetic.

You are wrong.
The fictional player with 2 SEC offers not named Bama did not get a rating from Rivals. And consequently didn't get a 247 composite profile. That story isn't as fabulous because the profile isn't visible.
They had a test case. Bama wins the award for recruiting notoriety.
