re: How painful will it be for UGA that their best chance in decades was ruined by Auburn?

Same gameday coaching though
So you've not watched us besides the AU game. Kirby has been heads and shoulders better coaching this year compared to last year.

Not like what we are currently experiencing. We're likely to finish with a top 3 class 3 straight years compared to Richt years where we hovered between 7-10.

Dude, dont lie. Missing out on the playoffs, and sec title, because one of your main rivals beat you twice would suck dick. I wouldnt blame you for melting. Dont try to sell us "we wont be that mad because we are ahead of schedule."
Dude, we're just happy to be here tbh. You're talking about a fanbase that was comfortable with having Richt be in the hunt every 5 years and being okay with 3 losses a year. Our expectations aren't on the same level as Bama, AU, LSU for now.

This will be sad. But, I would take losing to Auburn in the SECCG in a heartbeat over getting derailed in October by Florida or Tennessee.
2002 or 2005 were probably the worst from that perspective. Well, even 2007.
Plus Auburn is a good team--nothing to be ashamed about losing to them.

All of which were BETTER chances. One game separated us from the natty in all of those seasons.
Auburn's first win didn't mean shite in the grand scheme. If they win this one, they kept us out of the semis, but not the natty.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Chunks.

In what universe? A top 10 recruiting class where 3 or 4 of the top 6 are SEC rivals doesn't get you much.

I honestly get this impression from UGA fans

No more painful than if it were anybody else. And, fyi....our best shot was 2012 when we fell short to Alabama. Not sure why it being Auburn is worse than if it were anybody else, though.

They still control their own destiny, AU hasn't ruined anything yet.

Not so sure about that. Their success this year has been the result of an atrocious SEC East. They wouldn't be 11-1 in the West this year.

2nd year coach with a backup true freshman QB and we are in the SECCG. I say that’s overachieving

While true, it is also true that we are literally demolishing opponents. Perception and momentum matter to big time recruits, and UGA's run is helping big time. He has elevated our entire program and we are just getting started.

41-0
and UT's standard is sucking. Bet ya'll take the CITRUS this year ...

Exactly. I don't understand the "ahead of schedule" comments and beginning of a dynasty insinuations. UGA ran roughshod over the worst division in the P5 and their best victory was a 1 point squeaker over a 3 loss team. I'm not saying that UGA is a bad team or that something special isn't on the horizon; I just think a little perspective may be pertinent to the discussion.

In his 2nd year we're playing in the SECC game with a shot at the F4. With a true freshman QB. SEC East sucks, but we're killing them- not like Miami who's barely getting by. How could that possibly be "ahead of schedule"?

Do you even 2012 brah...
You have to remember...2012 never happened. Auburn didn't go 0-8 in the SEC and UGA didn't win the east. It just didn't happen.

Best chance in decades were 2002 and 2012. Even if we beat Auburn Saturday, we have 2 tough games left. 2012, if we had gotten 5 more points vs Bama, it would've been one more game against a vastly overrated ND.

I will take Georgia's five year outlook over anyone in the country.

I don't know which melt I am looking forward to the most. When uga gets that tail beat Saturday night, or when bammer gets left out of the playoff Sunday.
It will be a weekend long remembered. It will have seen the death of uga and the end of the bammer dynasty.
