How much of this soap opera is being fueled by private equity?

I would assume the real football/athletics focused individuals on both sides would prefer this to be just a football game, but how much of the drama is being stoked by the private equity investment as a publicity stunt to “grow the LSU brand”? Seems to me both sides are being played as useful idiots to make short-term money for somebody .

It's not that deep. Kiffin goes to bed giggling about all the talk about him.

If this was their plan to "grow the brand" then they're more strategically inept than most PE firms.

Everyone is milking this cow right now. ESPN is milking the hell out of it. Ole Miss and LSU are both milking it. The businesses in Oxford are milking it. I'm sure private equity firms are also milking it as well.

The Louisiana politicians are also to blame. Any attention is good attention.

And that's why I never believed for a second the SEC was actually going to suspend Kiffin for this game. There is waaaayyyyyyyyy too much money on the line here.

It is odd that something new happens with LSU / Ole Miss every day.

I never thought that was on the table, to be honest.
