Maybe when he's more than 2 years removed from winning the freakin' national title.

He told me at lunch today he's planning to retire after the 2030 season. He wants to spank Notre Dame one more time when they come to Tuscaloosa.

Why have I seen Atleast two people act like he will do like Bobby Bowden?

First of all those two aren’t even close to being in the same category. Saban has 7. Bowden has 2.

Saban won’t get Bama to FSUs little level like Bowden did

Im sick of this bastard running college football

I wish this were true because it would be better ran if he did. He just makes suggestions and is often ignored, so he adjusts.
If you mean "run it" as in wins too much. Well he is probably there for 8 more seasons. But careful what you wish for, Bama might go after your coach next.

Bear Bryant retired on Dec 29, 1982

Jerry Stovall made Bear quit.

Question--when Saban goes, what will the Bama faith full wear? Saban does not wear houndstooth, so far as i know.

Is that the morale of your story?

Saban ‘s work and his life are one and the same. That’s why he won’t retire. But there is one reason he would consider retiring: NIL rules not being reformed. If NIL remains the Wild West with no guardrails, and wealthy schools exploit their financial advantage, then I can see Saban retiring because he doesn’t view the playing field as level. This won’t happen until about 3 years out. Saban is a traditionalist at core and his success has depended on controlling his players and imposing his system on them. As the players gain more power and leverage, Saban will lose interest.

By the way, while I’m a Texas fan, I have great respect for Saban and love his approach. He fights his players’ worst impulses and tries to instill traditional values. Have to admire that.

Gonna be interesting when Jimbo gets fired and decides to let out all the dirt he hinted at pre-season.
