The beatings will continue until morale improves.

He'll continue either until he can't anymore (likely) or he gets pushed out due to diminishing performance (very unlikely... but we would have said the same about Bobby Bowden 5-10 years before he was run out).

Agreed. He'll do this shite until he can't even walk out there anymore

Bear Bryant retired on Dec 29, 1982 and died on January 26, 1983.

Saban will end up like Bobby Bowden or JoPa (in 5 years or so) and then it could be another three years until he "retires"...

The bigger question is what if he slips and won’t quit. Like Bowden or Paterno. Heck Dooley prob should have retired in like 84-85.

That’s what I was thinking
He may very well pull a Bear if he retires

We Bama fans loved him, but it’s well known Bear didn’t live a healthy lifestyle and take care of himself like Saban does. Drank whiskey and smoked Chesterfields for decades. He was dying prematurely whether he retired or not. Saban’s worst vices are probably Little Debbies and cussing. I think he coaches at least five more years and lives into his 80s.

I want him to stay and keep taking L’s in the Natty. Watch him go out as a loser

If Saban retires, his wife will have him doing house work all day. So, the only way he goes is feet first.

He'll tarnish his legacy by hanging on too long. (See Bobby Bowden).

Honestly think he has at least 5 years. Wouldn’t be surprised if he coaches til 80, though

This question gets old. And I don’t believe he retires until he’s physically unable to do the work.

The more interesting question to me is what would happen if Bama went back to back 8-4. Or similar. Pretty unlikely, but you KNOW that would commence some fascinating discussions among fans, administration and boosters. He’d NEVER walk away at that point. Soooooo?

He's going to be like bernie when he dies, the fans will take him places and do things with him. And the kicker is we won't be none to the wiser
