As a program overall, give me A&M. That said, Rhule is a fricking good coach who's done a wonderful job there (Briles fricked that program over).

According to whom?

I believe he was a candidate for the Cards and Jets' jobs.

being a resident of Waco, i can assure you this place is exploding due to the Gaines effect...money is pouring into this place from the tens of thousands of visitors to Magnolia and independent businesses are reaping the benefits with new ones cropping up weekly: independent restaurants, bookstores, antique shops and the like. investors are injecting cash into new projects all over downtown and the riverfront, and real estate is at a premium.

and Rhule just signed a multi-year extension that purportedly brings his salary into the $8 mil/year range....though being a private institution they are not subject to the same disclosure requirements that a public school has so we’ll never know the details. it also had a big buyout. and he’ll be here a while as he and his wife want some stability so their kids to finish high school in Waco.

re: the crime stats, being a criminal lawyer i consider that to be an investment forecast, so no worries there.

A shame that 90% of non-Texans can only think of The Branch Davidians when it comes to Waco.

Waco is better than it used to be, thanks to hoardes of middle aged women dragging their husbands down to the fawn over cheap arse HGTV house renovations.

But it's still not a particularly nice city, and the HGTV crazy won't last forever. It's basically Tyler with more violent crime and less pine trees.

Not even close.

That's like comparing Louisiana and Texas.

There are two articles linking Rhule to the NFL. There have been more

There are multiple articles linking Riley to the NFL as well. He has never expressed interest in coaching in the NFL nor will he anytime soon (if ever). That "will he go to the NFL because he's having success in college?" nonsense is completely made up media horseshite.

They said the same thing about Bob Stoops for all 18 years he was at Oklahoma as well.

There's more than just rumors linking Riley to the NFL. Maybe he'll go to the NFL, maybe he won't, but going on record that he will not make the jump is pretty bold, and really sounds like you're trying to convince yourself he won't leave. At the very least, an NFL opportunity is likely on the table for Riley whenever he wants one.
