A better question- just how gigantic would the collective psychotic meltdown be for your average gumptard if Gus beats bama again next year? In your house?

With OP's logic, it's only a matter of time before Saban starts to suck.

Terrible troll attempt, but the real answer to the question is the same as it is or ALL AU coaches. What's his record vs Bama? I know most AU posters won't like it but that's truly all that matters.
Not saying it will or can happen, but let Bama win the next two years and I guarantee his seat is very warm. Eleventy billion dollars says that had Chiz figured out a way to win last year, GUARANTEE he's making "assistant coaching changes" and is still the coach. You guys won't like it, will give me 34-28 but you know deep down it's true.

Or CTT who was kryptonite?
It's the same at either school. You'll get some free passes for beating AL/AU, and you'll hear grumbling if you don't. But both schools are competing for championships, and absent some prolonged losing streak, being successful otherwise won't limit your tenure.

Let me think about it for a second.

Who leaves their current job first? Nick or Gus?

Malzahn has the energy, attention to detail, desire to be the best that is only rivaled by a select few. He will be successful for as long as he is there.

It's certainly what drove off Curry, though Perkins was 2-2. I think Perkins just had the unenviable task of coming after Bryant.
Side note - who's your avi?

There was controversy from unsatisfied boosters and alumni at Alabama, and a lucrative contract offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led Perkins to leave Alabama for a second chance in the NFL after the 1986 Alabama season.
