Because you can’t lose to a sub .500 LSU team and Memphis and be ranked in the top 25.

As an Ole Miss fan I have a sneaky feeling we are going to lose the Egg Bowl lol. But who knows, if we are healthy we are a top 6 team in the country. Just hoping we get 100% by then since we have a free game right before the Egg Bowl

25 teams more talented than LSU? Nope, just because they are having a bad year doesn't mean they are devoid of talent.

So you think they should go by the eye test instead of actual wins and losses?
I have no problem with MState, but they are 3-2 in their last 5 games. Do you think that is top 15 performance?

Some schools like UTSA play easy schedules while other schools in the SEC get punished for playing extremely difficult games. Back when they only had a top 20, these rink a dink teams wouldn't be ranked.

It should be based on strength of schedule which is the level of competition they play. It is very hard to justify a G5 school go unbeaten and go to a playoff over a 2-3 loss SEC champion.

Maybe. But even with a 3-2 record they would be hard pressed to be named in the top 15 even if you take UTSA out of the equation, don't you think?

I mean of the 3 games they won they beat a 4 loss Auburn team that will probably end up with 5-6 losses...Vanderbilt and a pretty good Kentucky team.

State is 4-2 last six games with wins over Kentucky, at Texas A&M, and at Auburn.

Three of State's four losses this season are by a total of 8 points. State is 11 points from being 9-1.

State shouldn't be ranked in the top 15 as of now but still be in the lower top 25. Most SEC schools that are bowl eligible should be ranked at this point but the voters will never allow it to happen as they don't want a top 25 full of SEC teams.

Ok. You want to stretch it beyond 5 games, then lets stretch it to 8 games. MState is 4-4 through that, with losses to Memphis, LSU and a 5-6 loss Auburn. I mean, are you guys headed in the right direction? Absolutely...it would appear. But you still have 5 losses on the year and in my opinion do not belong in the top 15 teams in the country. Do you honestly believe you do?

I also get that some of those losses were close, but two of those losses were to LSU and Memphis. COULD you have won them>? Yes. But you lost to two very bad teams, and you can whitewash it any way you want, those were still bad losses.

And if you want to play this game then State is also 5 points from being 3-7.

If you mean somewhere in the 22-25 range I cold see that. but lets face it...Arkansas is having a pretty darn good year and is at 21, so probably somewhere in the 23-25 range at best.

Based on this, Kansas should be top 10 and Samford should be ranked.

I don't think anyone will be surprised if the Rebs lose the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss may be the betting underdog in that game.

They were pretty healthy against one of the more mediocre Bama teams in a decade. Ole Miss with Lane can challenge or beat most any team or completely shite the bed. It's a nature of his coaching. Genius QB coach and great play caller, but an emotional basket case who sometimes goes video game mode and forgets that points (FGs) , field position, and momentum are factors in football

You're right. I had Louisiana Tech down as a loss since the win was by only 1 point.

However, we will see at the end of the year.

However, even with 4 losses do you honestly believe a 4 loss team deserves to be in the top 15 with two games left? because what y'all are getting so upset about is my saying MState is not a top 15 team.

If they win out then yes. It is a better argument than putting teams like San Diego State and Louisiana Lafayette over them when they played a joke of a schedule.
