How is Mississippi State not ranked In the new AP or coaches poll?

A ranking should be based on how good a team currently is, not their record for the year. They and Arkansas should be ranked in the top 15.

4 losses.
Not a single team is ranked with fewer than 3 losses.
A&M is the highest 3-loss team at 16.
Pittsburgh is the lowest Power 5 2-loss team at 20.

We were 26th based on votes received.
Arkansas likely loses to Alabama Saturday and we have a rent a win in Tennessee state so we will move into the top 25 after that with a 7-4 record. Plus they’ll want the egg bowl to be a top 25 matchup

You would beat Memphis right now. Maybe LSU. Most would have losses to Alabama. You shouldn’t be penalized for playing good teams. Arkansas is a coin flip.

The AP poll doesn't matter. I believe State will be ranked 24 or 25 in the CFP poll Tuesday.
