Well, back to the original premise of this thread-- I don't think LSU is the bad guy in this, but I think that Foley threw shade at Alleva in his statement yesterday in response to Alleva publicly blaming UF for the game not getting played last weekend. I can see why Foley would be a little pissed that he did that. At the same time, I can understand Alleva's position to not grant any further concessions when he tried to be accommodating last week.
At the end of the day, this was just a difference in opinion on how to handle this thing. LSU fans will side with their AD. Florida fans with theirs. The important thing is the game will be played. That's honestly the only thing any of us, as fans, should really care about.

What would the contingency plan be when all the local first responders are on call to support the coastal communities? The population of Florida is not the same as Louisiana. When Rita hit SW La. it hit a sparsely populated area. And LSU had just been through this weeks before and I think there was high resolve not to have another game affected.

I actually completely agree with this. The majority of the blame has to sit on the SEC front office. Both ADs will do what they feel is best for their university (it's their job). That inherently will bring them into conflict. The commissioner should've seen this coming from a mile away and been mediating from Monday on. Instead he sits on his hands and we get the shite show we're left with.

No one knows the whole story of the conversation but I can't imagine that this is any different than two teenagers having a dispute and then having to describe their versions of the story.

fwiw I agree with your first part. Although I do believe Alleva offered to fly in and out same day on Sunday or Monday. That's pretty straightforward.
