I can think of one segment of the population that is very prevalent in Mississippi and not in Iowa or Nebraska.

That alone puts them ahead of MS

When you get a welfare check in your mailbox every month that covers your bills, and a food stamp card you don't have a lot of stress. When you're uneducated too then you're too stupid to know how much that lifestyle sucks..

That's where that comes from

The Midwest is just bland as frick

It seems bland because it's the predominant and prevailing American culture, it forms the spine of it all, "Will it play in Peoria" and all that.

Irish is the second largest reported ancestry for Iowa.

But they're still outnumbered by Germans by like 3:1. Also Irish gets vastly over-reported in self reporting ancestry questions while English and German are under-reported. White people fricking love to say that they're Irish and Indian.

Mine too... Maybe the rest of the state is much different from the southeast part of the state, but it's mostly German/Scandinavian in those parts.

Bingo

If you eliminate the Delta MS shoots to pretty much the middle of the pack in every single metric.

Simply put MS ranks so low due to the fact it has the highest percentage minority population in the country.

MS is 37% African american while Iowa is less than 2%

I expect MSU to school Iowa - they had one of the best defenses in CFB this year

Both teams did. Mississippi State had the #3 total defense, but Iowa had the #7 total defense.

Both are some of the top pass rushing defenses in the country too, but State obviously has an edge on DL (don't overlook Iowa's DL though).

Iowa has the edge in the secondary though.
Tied for 1st in the country for Interceptions as a team, and SR safety Amani Hooked is a 2nd team All-American

People are so dumb. History says that when a calvary division went to the Hakawi Indian tribe to collect a debt, the officer told the chief that he owed $200. The chief replied I-O-WA?

Shitty troll.

Every single place in Iowa is better than ALMOST every single place in Mississippi. And I say this as a person who has spent a good deal of time in the remotest parts of both states, from Kosciusko to Waynesboro, and Spirit Lake to Ottumwa.

Iowa is about 95% people of German or Nordic/ Scandinavian ancestry and they're mostly blonde hair and blue eyes

Well, that's not exactly true. Seems like a lot more are in the brownish hair range, but they are (in general, of course) some of the nicest people on the planet.

I dunno, there are a lot more blondes in the Midwest than in other places in my experience. At least the upper midwest; Dakotas, IA/MN/WI.
