I never said LSU’s O-line wasn’t elite. I just don’t think it was the best in CFB. And honestly you using your O-line as the reason Burrow threw so many TDs is hilarious. They gave up 29 sacks on the season and would have given up over double that with any other QB
quote:
What Voters Said
"There is a tendency to hyper-focus on the rushing attacks and the run-blocking of these units, but LSU forced us to really alter our filters and do a deeper dive. They were solid against the run, but their ability to handle protection duties against SEC rushers with so many receivers out in routes was really impressive and one of the reasons QB Joe Burrow won the Heisman. It's not THE reason, but it's definitely one of them."
"It's incredible how often and how well they pass block in "empty" protection (no TE or RB help). There are plays all season, including the SEC Championship game where they are blocking 6, 7, 8, 10 seconds while Burrow looks to throw downfield. Great awareness in pass pro and often look for work and pick up delayed rushers. Appear willing to happily serve up some "full slabs" by rearranging an unsuspecting D-lineman's rib cage in slide protection. Very physical bunch."
200 voters (coaches and former OL) that look at OL performance decided they were the best. Maybe I'll take their word over yours.
quote:
"Passing as much as this offense did this year puts a unique strain on the group up front and boy did they respond. Sitting and watching these guys on film, the number of pass protection reps that I wrote down 'Teach Tape Worthy' next to in my notes was remarkable. Pass pro is definitely not passive for these guys."
“They define what the teamwork criteria is about. They really worked well together in their combination blocks and in pass pro. Always a lot of [defenders] on the ground when the play was over. Played to the echo of the whistle on a regular.”
“Very efficient in both run game and protection. I thought they played with the most physicality. Borderline violent at times. All of the finalists were tough and physical, but it seemed like LSU was particularly prickly when given the chance.”
I'm sorry it bothers you. The experts have spoken.

I mean they can have the award but no one is going to consider them the best O-line in 2019
By "no one" you mean just you.

By no one I mean everybody except delusional LSU fans and shitty awards voters

It was a really solid offensive line - seems like a pretty dumb topic to argue about given the ambiguity of it all

You see that mass of tape on his ankle in that pic? Might have something to do with it

You're, literally, the only person ITT arguing against it.
Weird.

I've also read That Joe Burrow was the most pressured QB in CFB last season.
How many attempts did he have compared to other teams?
Also, he had to play against some pretty good defensive talent: Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, that may have skewed the numbers a bit.

Maybe NOT but we beat the GUMPS arse !!!

They won the Moore award for best offensive line so...
The award lost credibility by doing that.

It was good, was it the best? I don’t think so. Burrow’s ability to move around and extend plays played a huge role.

Well given how this board is primarily compromised of LSU trolls that isn’t surprising

Yes, coaches and former OL.
How dense can you be? I've tagged the article on the 1st page. You can whine all you want it won't change the truth. This is not a good look for you.

Maybe not , definitely good enough to beat auburn and Alabama . Isn't winning the final objection ?

Right. I'll remember the "awards don't really matter" argument going forward.
Seems to be a popular one for opposing fans that are sky screaming about LSU's success in 2019.

Average pass blocking, pretty good run blocking.
Definitely not best in country, but improved a good bit from 2018

Burrow also had a tendency to hold the ball vs throw it away at times and led to additional sacks. He was exceptional at buying time, but it did also increase the sack total as well so it was kind of a wash from what I saw.
