For ND in a new offense yes. I’m well aware he played at Duke for Elko. I wish I would have seen his games.

He is very, very good, will prob be playing in the NFL next year

Early season game, so it’s a total crap shoot.

The best thing we have going for us is the fact that it’s a home game in 100-degree August heat, even in the evening.

Aggies are now a 3 point favorite and I think they win by double digits

ND offense is putrid and it will be 120 on the field.

Notre Dame lost all credibility when they got destroyed by Bama. No wonder BK wanted to get out.

BK was most of the problem.

For the two seasons prior to BK's hire at LSU, Notre Dame was 22-3 and LSU was 11-12.

For the two seasons after his his hiring, LSU is 20-7 and Notre Dame is 19-7.

Freeman is technically 19-8 as Notre Dame's head coach.

Notre Dame hasn't won a major bowl game in 30 years, incidentally, their last last major bowl victory was a Cotton Bowl win over Aggie.

But yes, BK was the problem. For sure.

What reputation?

ND hasn't been a great program since Lou Holtz departed.

They have a reputation for playing a weak schedule.

They have a reputation of being overrated in the recruiting rankings because of their massive Jesuit fan following and the need for premium subscription modeled online recruiting services run by Shannon Terry to bend a knee to their fanbase.

They have a reputation for playing half an A Shee Shee schedule in their attempt to stay relevant .... which makes one have to laugh at the ACC for agreeing to half a schedule.

They have a reputation for being overrated and under achieving based on pre-season bowls.

You wanna know what real privilege is? It's Irish Privilege. ND has an almost guaranteed spot in the playoffs every year .... because they're Notre Dame. Not because they'll be one of the 12 best teams every year .... but rather because of their TV following.

That's ND's reputation.

Were you able to spy on their fall training camp since you seem to be living in Oklahoma? How would you view Brian Kelly at LSU? Since he was at Notre Dame and wasn't any better than the others there. I think LSU will be a slight better, but it is Kelly whom I have a bad feeling is the one holding back LSU to win a championship there.

How good is Conner Weigman? He stays healthy and ND is in trouble. I have Conner projected as a better SEC QB than Gary Nussmieir, Payton Thorne, or the Viles QB, Rama Lama Ding Dong.

Connor hasn’t had a full year on field. Hopefully this is the year. But he has a super quick release and trigger with an accurate ball that gives us optimism he can have a good year.

I still remember notre dame getting absolutely bodied by mark Dantonio in overtime. 4th and 14 down three and the crazy bastard calls a fake fg pass to win the game. One of the ballsiest plays I’ve seen.

They're ok, but not a top 10 team in the country.

They're still way better than aggy though. That game will be a bloodbath.

It would be a great start for Elko.

I'm somewhat concerned about A&M. First off, they have been relatively silent this off-season - what's up with that. Aggie woofing and bravado is usually what backfires on them, but mostly crickets this time..

Secondly, Elko is a likeable guy. I subconsciously wish him success. Not sure how I will reconcile this with myself.

Thirdly, the fact remains that Aggie has been recruiting lights out for a few years now. That could show itself at any time.

If that was going to happen, it would have happened last year.

Now most of those recruits are gone. Offensively they have a frail Weigman plus a bad Oline and terrible receivers. Not a good combination.

Defensively their secondary is talented on paper but got torched by every good passing attack they played against.

They'll beat who they're supposed to beat and get absolutely drilled by everyone else. Including ND.

8-4.

They were mediocre at best last season, I expect them to downgrade to sub-par this one.
