not sure he’d win it but it would still be a nice milestone for him given how bad hes obviously been against ranked teams throughout his career.

Not sure about next year but once he has a high school class and two portals, 27 and beyond could be great.

Lane will win one national championship at LSU. Then he'll rest on his laurels and get fired 4 years later.

Where do you get that?

Saban averaged just over 9 wins a season at LSU and 3 losses. You expect Kiffin to be better than that?

I believe he is going to have much success. Sign the talent from the state and cherry-pick the portal.

He has to improve the actual discipline for his roster and himself.

He'll likely struggle to recruit heavily from traditional high school pipelines which is important in La. and across the Gulf Coast. Because of that, his recruiting will lag at times pushing him to go back to his honey hole: the transfer portal.

For 25 years we had NO problem getting highly rated blue chip HS players. Lane is not at OM anymore, This is just more false hope you guys try to give yourselves. Lane is about to go HAM in every area….esp the one area we have excelled at for years you dummy

Said by every”L”3u fan since 2000. Some swamp rats even projected the same thing for coaches who weren’t even hired, but were “on the radar” such as Stoops, Riley, Saban, etc.

Simply put, “L”3u has never had a coach even sniff MNCs and will never be a blue blood.

A Raiders / USC type performance before being fired in 2028

I can't wait to see Lane's awkward arse go to Bayou Buffet HS and try to relate to their players and coaches.

This is where you lose me. Why do you say this? Because he couldn’t at Ole Miss? I mean it’s hard to recruit when you’re sharing your state with another SEC school and Bama and LSU also reach in and take what they want.

He may not be the world’s best recruiter, and we may not get every recruit we want but I doubt we’ll see significant problems in consistently getting blue chip players from Louisiana and East Texas.

Lane won’t have to build entire classes in the portal anymore. If he can just get a few names every year to supplement the train will run fine. I’m not saying it’s Natties every year, but I expect to see LSU performing like it should consistently for the first time since the 00’s.

CLK will still get all the top end talent in LA. A few more from east TX and gulf coast all the way into FL. Expect 20 high school recruits in a normal cycle.

No questions on offense. It's Lane freakin Kiffin we talking bout. He made a RB into a national champion QB.

As for the defense. Blake Baker is the man; In 2 years he took and LSU defense in the 100s in all the major categories to top 25. Here's some numbers from '25.

shut out clemson 2nd half
shut out swamp geckos 2nd half
ole miss had LOWEST point total in SEC game. 7 points in 2nd half
cocks scored 3 points LAST 3 quarters of the game
bama had LOWEST point total in SEC regular season game.3 2nd half pts
ark scored 8 points last 3 quarters
ou scored 3 points in 1st half

Combine the 2 together and that's one hell of a football team.

What exactly are you basing this off of?

He signed more 5 stars at LSU in one week than he did in 6 years at OM.

Meh. Lee fumbled on the 2 yard line. Without that we score 31 and game isn't close.

He will compete for SEC Championships which means they will be a playoff team. Not sure if Lane can stay there long enough or is capable to win it all but they will be competing for the SEC and making the playoffs.

That may be true, but let's be honest here.....the only reason Bama is a blue blood is because of 2 people.....Bryant and Saban....that's it. You take those 2 guys out of the picture and y'all are Auburn at best.

Your state does not produce anymore NFL talent than the state of Louisiana does, it's about even. And we don't have to contend with any other in-state college. Y'all got LUCKY that you had both of those coaches. Nothing more.

Just like we got lucky to have Saban for the short time we did and look what he did for our program for several years after.

But LSU is definitely a good coach away from being every bit as good as anyone. You don't want it to be true, but it is. I mean cmon, Les and Orgeron won natty's there for crying out loud.

That's why many LSU fans get angry, we have the talent, facilities, atmosphere, etc to compete with anyone, but keep failing to find a coach that can bring it all together. We'll find out if Lane is the guy or not.
