I would put Florida and LSU ahead of UGA, probably Auburn too if not for the lopsidedness of the series during the last decade.

How do those teams compare in overall wins, head to head, and sec titles?

I think LSu and UGA are neck and neck with each other

LSU owns these over Georgia:

- Head-to-head (18-13-1)
- More national championships
- More conference championships
- More draft picks
- More all-americans
- More weeks in the AP Poll
- More weeks at #1 in the AP Poll

conference champions

SIAA and Southern titles should not count.

They didn't award conference championships at the time anyway.

Even without the series, what does AU have over UGA?

Yes they did.

From the St. Petersburg Times, Dec. 1, 1926....

Alabama won the 1924, 25 & 26 Southern Conference Championship. It states it in this article.

SoCon titles were voted on by various newspapers in the south. Officially they didn't have a champion in football until 1933.

The AP is voted on by various newpaper journalists also, and it counted until the BCS/CFP.

Times change, but you don't change history, like some of the "woke" generation is trying to do.

Please

The media never "crowned" a SEC champion. Its completely different than the AP picking a National Champion.

Speaking of rewriting history

quote:

The Southern Conference does not officially recognize championships claimed from the 1922–32 seasons,[6] as there were upwards of 20 to 23 teams competing within the conference during this time. However, some championships are still cited and claimed by the individual schools.

Which has nothing to do with the fact that the SoCon didn't have an official champ in football until 1933.

Tennessee is a dying star

Wrong. Apparently you were focused completely on your championship team last year, and didn't see anything that happened up the road. All things go in cycles, and we are finally cycling up. As the second best team in the south alltime, we are about to solidify our hold rather than still sitting in purgatory.

National champion doesn't get blown out in their "championship season"

National champion wins their conference.

So who was the NC?

Who won the conference in '17 and who won the NC?

BTW if it wasn't for the Clint Stoerner miracle fumble you guys would be looking at a SEVENTY year
drought...SEVENTY years.

Pathetic

Guess championships aren't that important to you unless it's your team winning them.

Championships are one piece of the entire pie that make up a program's history, I'm sorry if some people are too ignorant to understand that.

And what does your comment refer to exactly? AU has less titles than us while UF has the same amount. UT and LSu have more, and I've been fully open about saying those teams are ahead of us. So not sure where your beef comes in.

All well and good but perhaps you should read more carefully.

based upon National Championships and Historical AP Poll performance

The link you provided clearly states what criteria is being used and he did not use the criteria that is being used in this thread.

I can come up with some criteria that shows Vanderbilt is the best.....saaaaay....GPA for football players, but we would be talking about two different things.
