beating teams to get there with a better roster than he had

He had a STUD QB that was a 4/5 Year Starter at P5 schools. Lets see what he does with a new, unproven QB in the SEC. Cant make any inferior “Talent” arguments now that he's at Bama & in the SEC.

Me thinks there were some players who weren't exactly.....surprised. Of course there were preliminary discussions. You don't handle succession of this level on-the-fly, and Saban wasn't going to leave Bama high and dry.

It’s not the same as replacing someone fired for cause. It’s not a rebuild job, they were in the playoffs. Have we ever seen a coaching search immediately after a team went to the playoffs? What’s interesting is this year we have two and probably three.

Did you honestly expect the university not have anything in place once the day actually arise to where Saban would want to retire? This was thought of years ago. Me nor you knew anything about it.

Believe this has been in the works for awhile. The whole season was awkward to me. His wife even told him to be tougher and be like the old Saban.

He was just tired I am convinced. I’m around Saban age. I retired out of Construction. Project Management level. I can tell you after all the years of war in the trenches, I was exhausted and ready to do something else.

I sometimes do miss the challenges and people but as you get older, the body just gives up unless you’re our President who’s got to be pumped full of happy juice to keep him going.

Yea, LSU was MUCH lower

And that is what cost LSU a good chance of making a run at the national championship. All I'm saying is if this guy's defense rated mediocre in the PAC12 then he's got some rows to hoe to get to Bama type defenses that they are noted for. It's pretty evident that the Huskies defense was subpar for a #2 team in the country.

Was it really that hard of a decision for DaBore? He was staring down the barrel of a 7-8 win season next year, cratering his coaching stock, had to strike while the iron was hot and take the best offer he could.

Because if you've ever worked in high level administration, they often drill/practice for scenarios such as this situation.

It was a rush job that’s why they hired someone no one knew the name of at Bama as recent as a year ago.
