I suppose I'm for it because I would really hate to lose the Auburn and Florida series. Playing those two just seems like a fall ritual and there is nothing wrong with some tradition, even in changing times.

I do think the league needs to go to 9 conference games, with the extra teams a lot of years can go by without teams playing each other.

Play them. They just won’t count as conference games unless the year falls into the rotation.

I don't mind permanent opponents, but the SEC need to quite protecting Bama & let them compete. They are good enough to do so without the SEC kissing their a$$. In spite of what Coach Shorty says, they are a premier program and don't need protecting. A one loss SEC champion is still worth it's weight in the big picture.

Lol frick the 9 game schedule.

Just political grandstanding from conferences that weren't as successful in expansion trying to make themselves look better in comparison.

As for permanent opponent, I'm all for switching it up. Arkansas isn't going to be good anytime soon and we already get to play Tennessee, we don't need to hog them from the rest of the East.

It kind of works for Missouri because we get a new border "rival" but not for most of the rest of ya'll it seems.

Georgia and LSU played each other 7 times between 2004 and 2018

The fact that two teams from the same conference have the possibility of playing each other once in a decade, is ridiculous.
As for how to fix it, I have no idea.

Hate it because of how rarely we get to play all the teams.

Schedule should be 3 permanent opponents and alternating Groups of 5 for the remaining 10 teams. That way everybody plays in everybody else stadium at least once in a 4 year period

Get rid of divisions. Get rid of permanent opponents. Play a pod system. There are plenty of ways to work it out.

ETA - or do what the guy above me said.

I don’t mind it. The LSU Florida game is great every year. Only down side is not getting a chance to go to other East Stadiums for 50 years at a time. I’d like to visit more East teams campuses more often.

Two of those games were SEC Championship games, and five were before 2012 expansion, and the new schedule rotation.

The complaint is LSU traveled to Athens in 2013, and won’t make a return trip until 2025.

LSU won’t play at Missouri until 2023. It’s ridiculous a school will be in the SEC for over a decade before LSU makes a trip to their campus.

Auburn probably cool with dropping them after last decade. I don’t really care about playing any west teams but LSU/Bama/AU.

As it's been discussed (or do the math yourself), there is no FAIR way to have 2 different rotation cycles going simultaneously.
I don't know if it's even possible.

Lastly, these rivalries will NOT be non-conf. games.

Adding 2 teams at 4X4 pods would make things easier.

& they can remain as CONF. GAMES!

& LSU wasn't complaining in the '90's when Ala. was Tenn.'s "cupcake".

Tennessee and Alabama should play as non conference opponents if they so badly need each other. Before and after they do that they can both burn in hell.
