I don't know but passing for more than 3 yards in a half against an FCS school would help. The bitching is about the offense which has been a consistent problem for LSU and last night did absolutely nothing but fuel the fire and rightfully so.

Without pulling out the stat book, maybe Ensminger was going vanilla because we were playing an FCS school that we shut out 31-0.

Was it really that bad?

LSU is 2-0 with a win over the 8th ranked team in the nation, but half the Tiger Rant is literally praying for a loss to AU so they can say “SEE?! I TOLD YOU SO!!!”

Vanilla or not Burrow was getting hit and harrased all night pretty much. The OL was getting beat so bad we had to go max protect a lot. It was that bad and Auburn will put Burrow in the hospital if some serious improvements aren't made in 5 days.

I took a glance at tRant and I understand your frustration.

You've got a defence that can be outstanding and I expect a normal AU LSU sloberknocker. I can't wait.

Vanilla does not equal 300 yards of offense and 36% on 3rd down vs. a FCS school. That's just plain bad.

Nothing LSU can do about it because the whining is set up by the SEC office in Birmingham. LSU is doomed to whine in perpetuity.

By no means a fan of LSU, but I have to imagine your coaches knew this would be a win regardless, and tried some different things on offense. LSU is SEC worthy without a doubt. Probably just trying to figure out what might not work in the coming weeks.

The scheme was not the problem. SELU's defensive line dominating the LOS was the problem.

They've never been a picnic but yea, it seems real bad. What u have is a group on there that never knew anything but good years. To us older folks who saw mostly average to bad teams at LSU and having been through the probation years at Bama, u just appreciate good football now. As they get older it will change. That generation too has this I should always be best thing going on.
I was a football nut as a youngster too but u get older, u get kids, a real job, a health problem or two and it just don't mean as much. When we lost to Clemson a couple years ago, I spent about 30 minutes on it. The same time the year before I had just finished up surgery and radiation treatment for testicular cancer during the national title run. It was cool to win it but...U don't have to prioritize, life does it for u. Don't get too high, don't get too low my man.

At the end of the day it's a game.

As long as Saban is coaching Alabama and winning titles, it will continue. It's just a fact. We got a small taste of what it was like from Saban as our coach and now he's beating our arse on the field and in recruiting and we can't stand it, myself included. I can just admit it unlike most ranters. We could win the title this year and there will be a post that night about how Saban "stole" a 5* traitor from Amite.

I agree, Nado Jenkins. I blame it on Saban.

Nb4 (whatever mean thing y'all want to say about my focus)

The guy has always had such Eeyore-ish tendencies - never happy about anything - and when he "abandoned" LSU for greener pastures, he left that pessimism behind as his legacy to our fanbase.

You can't. It's just in some people's DNA. They are joy vampires; they suck the joy right out of the otherwise enjoyable experience of watching college football.

I think it has something to do with not being able to handle uncertainty, getting anxious, and then wanting to prove that shite rolls downhill.

Apparently for them, all wins must be beautiful, ugly wins bring out the worst in them. They forget that even national champions sometimes need ugly wins.

I'd just view them the same way one does trolls, and ignore them and don;t feed them, even if they are supposedly on the same side as you.

I'd actually suggest that's a huge negative, if true. These games, especially early in the season, are where good coaches do field testing. Quite literally. You can bet your arse that Saban and Smart take advantage of these opportunities. So y'all would be better off if Esminger didn't do that, especially if O signed off on it.
