Coach Saban is VERY focused. He showed that at LSU before he left and was in the process of up grading their facilities. When the Dolphins front office did not draft the QB Coach Saban wanted, they left the door open.
Coach Moore gave Coach Saban a blank check to do anything he wanted to help the university and football program.
Coach Saban brought in a methodology called the process, where he breaks everything down from the plays, the coaches and the recruits, and goes from there.
Have you ever wondered why some top players are not recruited by Alabama? They do not fit in the process.
Most coaches do not want to work as hard as Coach Saban, and that gap has grown.

The coaching and structure. Lots of teams have huge amounts of talent, even SEC programs whose fans like to pretend they don't in order to make Bama's run all about talent. It's the coaching and structure that puts Bama over the top. Talent fails...a lot. Every single year, there are teams with nothing but talent falling to the wayside because you need the coaching and development to make it work. Bama has those.

By putting 5* recruits in the 1st round of the draft at a rate that's much higher than the national average?

And that was just because half our team was injured most of the year.
Not to mention the following:
Alabama played six of its SEC opponents the week following the opponents' bye week. These SEC teams who scheduled a bye week before facing the Crimson Tide included South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn. Georgia State also had a bye week prior to playing Alabama, for a total of seven consecutive opponents playing Alabama the week following their bye.[23]

I have been to Tuscaloosa a couple times. There are worse spots on the planet probably. But really...we can probably all agree that Tuscaloosa isn't the draw.
The girls are pretty enough. But they certainly aren't pretttiER than anywhere else in the SEC region. Assume comparable moral standards....so...the typical silly rumors of the fairer sex being a draw to a school don't make much sense (and I"m being nice and NOT pointing out how many fat girls there are due to all the fried food).
The winning tradition is big for sure. It builds upon itself and takes time. Dubose and crew were beginning to tear that down, but Saban showed up just in time.
There's little doubt that Alabama breaks some NCAA rules in getting kids in...but they probably don't do any more or any more intentional than many other programs (and probably not as much as other SEC schools in the same state AHEM). I dislike both those programs, so that's not biased commentary.
The one thing that does seem obvious is that the SEC is built around Alabama. Conference office is there. Calls seem to typically favor Bama (yell all you want...they do). Conference rulings seldom go against what Bama wants. That's not new or unique to the SEC. Arkansas put up with it for years in the SWC with Texas. Big 10 has Michigan and OSU. Pac 10 or 12 or whatever number they are now has USC....etc.

Yes..."somehow" they do it.
Somehow Saban's teams rarely take the field and look unprepared, inept, poorly developed, totally clueless, afraid, soft, and overall out matched by the opponent.
Somehow when the TV camera goes to the sideline Saban rarely looks anxious, nervous, uneasy, apprehensive, indecisive >>>>> in over his head.

How do they manage to get the 13 other SEC schools not to do anything about it? That is the amazing part to me

Why does your coach and AD allow this to continue?

Like what? Again, if true why does your AD tolerate it?

A&M's probably got more (oil price increase) than Bama/REC and they're spending it. I'm interested to see how things shake out when Saban retires.
Forever LSU!

Take a great recruiter and put him in an organization willing to pay more than anyone else for recruits and the result isnt that surprising.

Convince them? Hell, they call Saban asking if they can play there!
