he was owed x amount for the remainder of his contract and they paid that in a lump sum? talk about being stupid with money
Fully guaranteed means fully guaranteed. A&M should have never given Jimbo that contract, but they did, and they paid what was owed. Its called keeping your word.
But seeing as yoy are a Louisianan, I wouldn't expect you to understand such things.

How do you know they cant afford this? Are you an insider or someone who is hearing internet rumors?

There was a great story on it. When the BoR met to discuss Fisher's termination, the TMF told everyone present that the money was already raised to pay the buyout. The dumbass AD had worked a deal with Sexton for Stoops to replace Fisher.
The BoR told the AD that wasn't going to happen, and Elko was their choice for the job. No negotiation at all. Shorlly after that, the AD found a different position at tOSU.
Bjork was a moron.

There is a discount for a one time payment but it isn't half. LSU was trying to cheap out on him. I don't know why anyone would go to LSU after this unless it was an up and comer.

apparently texans can't understand what fully guaranteed means...it does not mean you have to pay our the balance in a lump sum....they made a bad financial decision doing it that way...but you can't comprehend that lol

You can’t understand “termination for cause?” No one is arguing over the structure of the payout.
LSU’s has taken formal action to skip the buyout entirely.

There is no logical reason to pay him 54 mil lump sum instead of 800k a month per what the contract states...only to part ways and be done with each other.

I heard BK, with his lawyer, are attempting to get a judge to rule against on this topic. They will try to get a judge to tell LSU that they cannot hire another coach until they have fulfilled the contact stipulations of the coach they just ran off. -sarcasm

Leaks from LSU insiders are that the press conference is Monday and they'll opt out of any bowl invite.

Here's the ultimate irony. LSU is trying to fire BK for cause, and insinuate that he couldn't keep it in his pants.......................and they are trying to hire Lane Kiffin, aka Joey Freshwater.

quote:Yep, and now BK's lawyers are saying that BK is unhirable due to LSU's accusations and attempting to fire him for cause. BK may end up with a lot more than his contract is worth.
A) LSU is not fighting him because they can’t afford to, they asked the State Attorney General’s office to fight him.
B) his boss very publicly fired him. No reasonable person is buying the nonsense he abandoned the position.

They are literally paying him his $800,000 every two weeks as per the contract..... Both sides want a lump sum settlement so it's over so he doesnt have to look for another job.
Is 1.6 million a month stretching him so thin financially that he needs a job to make ends meet if he doesn’t get the lump sum?
