If M.I.T. is a 10 and a pre-school in rural Uganda is a 1, then LSU is a -0.3.

Yes, that bad.

As for crime, it's in one of the worst neighborhoods (Lakeshore) in one of the top crime-ridden towns in America.

Yes, it's that bad.

Imagine bringing crime and education smack talk to a sports board.

I guess thats what you do when Almighty Kirbuh gets smashed everytime he faces the shrimp boat captain.

Neighborhoods? Guess you didn’t see the post about the older guy that was assaulted in the bathroom at Tiger Stadium?

He was beaten pretty good. Thug was eventually identified and arrested. Thug was not affiliated with LSU, just worked at the stadium.

It's not as bad as Ole Miss or Mississippi State. It's probably on par with Arkansas and South Carolina.

"Lakeshore" isn't even a neighborhood in BR. If it were, though, you might check the square footage rates those houses in "Lakeshore" get.

You could mention large women who fight on scooters or a thousand other things, but this is pure fail.

You're right. Crime is horrible.

Look at this LSU guy committing murder two years in a row.

Something must be done!

LSU has pretty a decent engineering program with excellent facilities, but the University, as a whole, is lacking compared to many of its regional peers (Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, etc). However, LSU is much much much much less expensive to attend than any of those schools, making it a popular “value” destination for certain majors.
