This guy is either an idiot or a liar. I have lived in both Lafayette and Slidell and have been all over Louisiana and the state is full of dumbass Cajuns who pull for LSU.

I've lived in Alexandria for a little while but mainly New Orleans my whole life. I also spent a lot of time traveling around and interacting with people from around Louisiana. Northern and Western Louisiana are a lot like Alabama. Baton Rouge is a lot like Birmingham other than LSU is there. New Orleans is different though.

We (the rest of CFB) have isolated assholes. You have an entire SUBCULTURE of Jerry Springer rejects that seem to be working overtime to discredit Alabama football.
Teabaggers, tree-poisoners, celebrity-redneck callers, crowd-diving moms, shooters, stabbers, people committing crimes and putting the exclamation point on it with a "Rawwwlllll Tide"-every year it gets trashier and trashier. Don't get mad at us for noticing, bro.
There are actual master lists of crimes and trashy incidents. I understand some Gumps GET ANGRY AND DEFENSIVE and want to change the topic, but hey, it's more a documented factual observation than a slur. We all know you have plenty of great people too, in fact some of my favorites on this board.

It's hard to dispute that the number of ignorant trashy people who display an unhealthy obsession with an otherwise great school with a rich athletic history, beautiful campus, etc. is unparalleled in Alabama.
I can admit a level of shame for the like individuals misrepresenting my Alma mater. The consistent defense and deflection by Bama fans for their shite stains only amplifies the stereotypes and makes it harder for the casual observer to separate the groups.
I know my wife and her 100% college educated family cringe at the sidewalk fans as much as I do, but they appear to be the exception.

The south is a trashy place. Be grateful Alabama is THE program of the south and therefore draws all of these bandwagon trashy types in, otherwise they could be cheering for LSU or some of these other shitty programs.

I just don't see why people are thin skinned enough to let what random ppl whose only connection to you is a few tshirts and a rooting interest in one sport of your school causes shame.

I think this desperate insecurity displayed amongst even the Bama alum is a direct result of these trashy hoardes of Bama fans and their impact on the overall perception of Bama fans as a whole.
