This is the reason why I was really curious Tua went to Bama, specifically with the staff turnover of Lane and Sark. It's like he never thought about his development as a factor. And Hurts was firmly entrenched as the starter for multiple seasons.

I think Tua got some sort of wink wink deal that he'd be the eventual starter at Bama. When your family moves thousands of miles from Hawaii with you to Bama that says a lot. Plus, Tua's little brother is supposedly a stud QB too. Saban isn't messing that up.

I'd love to see Shea Patterson transfer to LSU. And there are rumors that he may be interested, not sure how serious though.

I understand. Wasn't he once verbally committed briefly to LSU before switching to Ole Miss?
It's (his transferring here) probably just a pipe dream anyway.

That's true too. He's probably going to end up somewhere there, but I'd gladly welcome him to LSU if he came. He's got a lot of talent.

I'm sure Tua is headed to Baton Rouge, it's the obvious choice. Start right now and rule the world. He'll probably be the starter out of spring. Sorry gumps. But not really.

Yes. But honestly. It's no so much him that I don't want near our program. It's his family (mostly his dad and brother).

If it doesn't mean anything, why is it funny?

because of the bama fans going ape shite about the post.

when you recruit 5* after 5* at a position, and one of the 5*'s probably won't see significant playing time for the next two years..............they will probably transfer.

I said before he signed that Tua was making a mistake going to Bama. Why sit three years behind an entrenched starter when you could have an amazing 3 year run as the starter at a school without a real starter at the position. Now if you stay, you're down one year as the only chance you'll start will be your senior year, instead of leaving after your junior year. That's a potential loss of what, 20 million+?

I've been touting Tagovailoa all year long, but even I realize that few coaches would pull the returning starter who was SEC offensive player of the year in his freshman season, and who had won the SEC and been a second away from a national title, for another true freshman. It just doesn't happen.

That true freshman, though, has been given ample playing time to prove that he's probably better than the starter, and betting odds are that he'll be the starter next season. I hate losing to Auburn, but when Hurts crapped the bed on Saturday in that specific game, that's the most likely scenario that will lead to Tua time.

edit: It wasn't just that game though. Against good defenses Hurts struggles nearly every time. It will p.off some Alabama fans but we have lost only 1 game since he's been here because of the awesome talent around him.

Hurts run backwards every play. He's regressing. He's getting gun shy and can't reasonably respond to pressure in the pocket anymore. He's not the first QB this has happened to and he won't be the last. At a certain point, you have to get him out of there.

Tua will be the starter at Bama next year when they open the season against Louisville.

Kind of like 2015 when Alabama lost to Ole Miss and then curb stomped Georgia in Athens a week later. That’s a good example, right?

Ole Miss isn't releasing him to play at LSU. If the NCAA releases his scholarship thats one thing.
