With football around the corner. I hope the SeC addresses this important issue.

I hope y'all continue to make a huge deal about it until every fan at every SEC game is using it.

This is the ultimate goal:

Longhorn fans and players do not want it as a penalty.

The players love doing Horns Down in opponent's end zones after a sack.

See LB Anthony Hill Jr doing it after dropping Milroe...

Hook'Em

I don't think the players give a shite about it but that's not what Anthony Hill was doing.

do you care to explain why you hope it’s a penalty?

Big deal about the horns down, you’re making a bigger deal out of it, or are you just looking for attention right now?

Your administration and MBB coach sure does though.

Serious question for UT fans: why is horns down such a big deal? Was it actually not allowed in your last conference?

A second rate SEC school isn’t going to garner penalties for opponents making fun of them. If this was one of the tier 1 schools, maybe they’d address it.

Most of us love it, but it doesn't really matter what we say, we're "triggered"

In reality, it started several years before with a Baylor player getting a penalty for doing the thumbs down to the crowd.

TLDR: we don't give a flying frick and 99% of us don't want it to be a penalty.

Here is the history....

For over a half century, opposing players did the Horns Down and no one cared. What changed?

Towards the end of Mack Brown's time at Texas, the Longorns played Texas Tech in Lubbock. A Texas WR scored on a long TD pass. While standing in the endzone, he did the "guns up" Texas Tech hand sign, and then holstered the pretend guns. That was it. This Texas player was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty.

The week after the game, our AD asked the Big 12 for clarification. Why was this a penalty? The Big 12 said it was a penalty because our player did the Texas Tech hand sign upside down (when he holseterd the guns). The Texas AD then brought up how every opposing player does our sign upside down in every game, so why is Texas held to a different standard? The Big 12 then started penalizing Horns Down. No one wanted this, it was out of control refs that created this mess.

Your men’s basketball coach was literally crying and begging the NCAA to penalized teams for the horns down if players or fans did it. He was live during a press conference acting like a little bitch.

Yes, he acted like a clown. He was ripped by the AD and the fanbase

Seems like there are mixed feelings about the "Horns down" thing among Texas fans.

I've heard from many that it is a sign of "disrespect" and is tantamount to giving a Texas fan the finger.

While I tend to think most fans are like you and don't think it is a big deal... there are some that do.

I do know that people who give Texas fans the "horns down" don't really think it is like giving Texas fans the finger... Because if they did... they would just go ahead and dispense with the "horns down" and give them the finger.

He won’t make it in the SEC. He needs to either get tougher skin, and go ahead and find another job.

Let me give you the simple version, again. Fans will do what they want when they want. Players are policed in the SEC for unsportsmanlike behavior.

Texas is currently looking to replace him.

They are trying to determine which SEC coach to poach.

Pio likes to do jynx on you. So if he says, Texas will win the SEC championship year one, he wants you to lose. So he wants everyone to do the horns sign down on you.

That about right pio?
