I want the ACC to remain viable and become a stronger top-to-bottom conference for a lot of reasons. One reason is keeping regionality.

One of the biggest reasons I want the ACC to survive is rivalry weekend. To me, rivalry weekend is even better than March Madness. If the SEC ever gets to this setup, rivalry weekend should be a four-day event with every marquee game in its own time slot. SEC owning rivalry weekend is a four day TV goldmine.

Wednesday
7:00 PM - LSU vs. Arkansas

Thursday
Noon - Oklahoma vs. OSU needs to happen/Mizz/KU is probably a good regional-interest game.
3:00 PM - Texas A&M vs. Texas
7:00 PM - Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State

Friday
Noon - Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt
3:00 PM - Kentucky vs. Louisville
7:00 PM - Alabama vs. Auburn

Saturday
Noon - Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
3:00 PM - Clemson vs. South Carolina
7:00 PM - Florida State vs. Florida

The only concern with Wednesday and Thursday games is that the SEC eliminated the late-season cupcake games. Recovering from a tough Saturday conference game and turning around that quickly is difficult, so bye-week placement would become very important. On the flip side, playing earlier in the week gives those teams extra recovery time before the SEC Championship Game.

As for expansion, adding Clemson and maybe Florida State would obviously be good for the SEC. But I also don’t want to see schools like Louisville and Georgia Tech get left behind and have no landing spot in either the SEC or Big Ten… even if I don’t necessarily want them in the conference either. The SEC already has a few schools that don’t feel like perfect fits.

Honestly, I wish we could get back to seven or eight conferences with 8-10 teams each, but that’s impossible now. Old big 8, SWC, ACC and Big East (w Penn State, ND and Miami) could flourish with regionality.

Old way with more conferences was definitely better. I liked the bowl games that were conference exclusive. Sadly, that will never return. Expanded playoffs imo isn't good for the game. I don't make those decisions however, so ya gotta roll with what you have.
