Can you tell us how much tuition cost to attend UA? Now ask a law student or business student how much debt they'll be in when they graduate after they've worked a part time job to have a little spending money if they would swap?

Burrow wasn’t worth it after 3 years because he couldn’t transfer which killed his market. That’s the point and why the portal is here to stay. If Burrow was in school today he wouldn’t be sitting at Ohio State for years not getting paid “hoping” to compete for the starting job.
Burrow did not stay at OSU because of his integrity. He stayed because he was forced to stay.

No. I do grasp it. You just aren’t grasping the fact that you, with your own free will, can root for whatever team you want. Hell, you could root for both.
My dad graduated from Southern Miss. The only time he’s ever watched them play was against Ole Miss back in the day. There are PLENTY of CFB fans who root for a school they didn’t graduate from.
Half of Bama’s fan base, for instance.
Your argument makes zero sense. "Your own free will". That has nothing to do with the fact that me, as an alumnus of SC, would rather see kids play for the school on the front of the jersey compared to shopping around their individual services to other schools like some knock off NFL league.

Bama and the NCAA both share the responsibility for the death of college football.
Win at all costs and we will look the other way.

You are an idiot after all!! So tell me this champ, how much should a team be willing to spend on an offensive guard compared to a 5 star qb? Now tell the offensive guard, that makes maybe a 10th of what the qb makes, that he has to keep the qb healthy. You freaking people just don't get it.
Now that being said, if there was a performance based system, if a player meets a certain set of standards, then they get bonuses. I'm good with that. And if a TEAM has a winning season, makes a conference championship, playoffs, national championship game and wins national championship then bonuses are paid as well. That way all the players are INVESTED in how the TEAM plays and performs and they can be compensated equally.
It's each man for himself right now and it will never work long term.

So while Herschel or Cam were driving around in high end sports cars and the offensive linemen were bumming rides that didn’t work? It kinda seems like it worked as both UGA and Auburn fans and players were celebrating those wins.

Well, that was back when kids went to school on SCHOLARSHIP. And if they didn't perform they could get their SCHOLARSHIP pulled and could only transfer ONCE, and normally that had to be some kind of hardship. And most players dad's would kick their arse if they lost their scholarship.

The poors are being salty and it’s not even summer yet. Back into your shanties poores. If you don’t have money, drop down a division.

That's a good point. If winning is all you want, drop down.
Keep that Bama tradition alive in the AAC

Now…. The only thing “collegiate” about “college” football is the name on the uniform. Players aren’t students anymore. They are paid professionals playing a sport with a university name on it.
I don't know if you realize this...
But people have been bitching about this in one form or another since about 1930.

Stop focusing on NIL, the money is not going away.
It's not NIL money. It is all arranged by each school. These players only have value through the schools. Do you think Nico is earning anything right now? It is all set up for whoever wears the school colors to earn money. Without the school ties they are worthless.
There are a few who earn on social media, but they are the vast minority.

They don’t have to “overrule” the courts, they just have to pass a law…the problem the NCAA had, was they weren’t laws, just rules by an association.
But they will have to pass a law that doesn't conflict with the supreme court ruling.

College sports were meant as extracurricular activities for students. But, for whatever rea$on they turned into something totally different for many. Football, in particular, will lose a good part of it's fanbase unless something is done very soon to return it to some semblance of the original intent. Do you think a kid from the inner city somewhere is going to listen to a position coach who earns less, let alone a professor, or a cop.

There is a lot of truth in what you said. The state of Alabama has always acted as though football starts and ends in their state. Would Tommy Tuberville been elected to the U.S. Senate in any other state? Look at how Auburn thinks that they have the right to poach anyone's coach. Or, listen to a Bama fan for about 5 minutes. They will tell you how good they are and how everybody else is beneath them. Just because they are a fan of a team. They act as though nothing exists outside of college football. Saban's contract started the price war coaches are in today. When you create something so big you can bet your arse other's are going to want a piece of it. Bama fans have no right to complain now. Maybe you need to look in the mirror. Now is it all on the state of Alabama, of course not? But you did play a part in it.

Don't you mean what a truthful rant? You didn't deny it. Saban ran for the hills when he couldn't stock talent like years past.

The arms race was always coming. Just because the state of Alabama, and the University of Alabama in particular, were ahead of the curve doesn’t make them the villains.
Just because someone pokes holes in the system doesn’t automatically put the onus on them. It was a bad system and someone would eventually find a way to poke holes in it.
