Good, honest opinions. It’s hard to see LSU pull this off. The prospect of the LSU offense keeping up with Tennessee seems unlikely. Even in an ugly, defensive struggle, Tennessee has that much more firepower

We can handle teams that pass a lot schematically, just look at how we handled State. Tennessee is more talented obviously so it won’t be nearly that easy, they’re going to move the ball reasonably well and score in the high 20s minimum. But their defense is horrendous… look at what Anthony Richardson from Florida did to them and compare it to how he’s played all year.

It’s gonna be close, don’t get me wrong, but we match up reasonably well.

I put $25 on LSU and the money line. I did the same thing with Florida. The Vols have ruined many a Saturday for me to be confident. If we lose, at least I’ll win a bottle of whiskey out of it. If we win, I’m fine being out $25.

I still think we are an 8-4 with bowl win kind of team, honestly, because our secondary leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, we can score points, but I can see that crowd helping force a mistake or two on the offensive side that our defense can’t back up.

Not to mention we are wearing those ugly arse Butch Jones greys that I loathe.

My heart says Vols, but my head says we shite the bed again when things are looking up for the program.

LSU has to play the odds on D. They have to get after the QB and let the DL, LB's get pressure until he gets rid of the ball. The DB's HAVE TO STAY WITH THEIR RECEIVERS AT ALL COST UNTIL THE QB CROSSES THE LOS.

Auburn's passing was effective when the QB scrambled and the DB's shifted from coverage to coming up to stop the run and had passes thrown over their heads. LSU might give up some more extra yards in the run dept, but if they do that and not give up the blown pass coverage, Auburn wouldn't have scored a lot of points.

LSU wins by double digits. BOOK. IT.

I’ve had steaks tougher than this overrated group of sissies.

Look at their schedule:
- Ball State (wowwwww)
- Akorn (oooooh)
- Pitt (barely won, Pitt just lost at home to 1-3 GT)
- Florida (got shite kicked by UK and USF)

2 cupcakes and 2 struggles vs shite teams.

Ain’t. Played. Nobody.

Let’s see how Hooker (benched at dumpster fire Va Tech) does when #18 and #40 are breathing down his throat.

LSU: 38
VOLS: 18

Prior to the last game, I might have agreed with you...but UT started extremely slow against Florida with 2 fumbles in their first 4 drives (1 at the Florida 12 and 1 at the Florida 33). As bad as Florida's offense is...UT only forced 1 punt, and that was late in the 2nd quarter. Bramblett will have a much slower day than he had against Auburn...you can bet on that.

Since Heupel has been at Tennessee, the Vols have never once failed to score in the first quarter.

yes...but they only had 3 points at the start of the 2nd quarter against Florida. UT will need touchdowns early on Saturday instead of field goals and drive ending turnovers.

LSU's terrible O versus UT's terrible D and UT's really good O versus LSU's really good D.

Game will be close, probably come down to a play here and there.

Toss up, imo, I'm pulling for LSU even though I don't have a dog in the fight..

Unfortunately I agree with the OP, this isn’t a good matchup for LSU. I’m afraid this game won’t be particularly close.

Tennesee's a good team for sure but I think LSU gives them a helluva game. LSU will probably win on a last minute fg ... 24-21.

They've always done well against mobile QBs but the offense is still a little slow. Nonetheless, LSU should be able to put up 3 TDs.

Off topic, but why do the Vols not discuss anything of games or strategy on their forum? I found out today that they were wearing grey Saturday. That was all that was said. What's wrong with your fans?

This is a terrible matchup for LSU.

LSU's passing game has been terrible, probably not good enough to take advantage of Tennessee's bad passing defense. If Daniels starts and is hindered by his injuries, it will be a long day. Alternatively, not really sure what to expect from Nussmeier if he should have significant playing time vs a soft pass defense.

LSU has also started slow in nearly every game this season, a recipe for disaster vs an offense like Tennessee.

LSU's secondary is very thin and is susceptible to giving up big plays at times.

Prediction
Tennessee- 31
LSU - 17

i see it very similar as you. but i do think we put up a late TD to cut it to 1 score. 31-24

i hope i am plensently surprised.

LSU is gonna win, 31-28. We exploit weak Hillbilly secondary and Hillbilly offense meets a real defense.

Heupel has coached 16 games at UT. In four of those, UT scored less than 30 points:

2021 vs Florida - 14
2021 vs Ole Miss - 26
2021 vs Alabama - 24
2021 vs Georgia - 17

Not saying that LSU won't hold UT to 21 points...but nobody has done it in the last 11 months.

On the flip side...Auburn is the only team to hold LSU to 21 points this season.

I don't know what the outcome will be...but I'm betting both teams will score more than what you predicted.

all not good for LSU. Our special teams have been a clownshow all year

Our punter is good, Ramos has only missed one kick since FSU (which I think was more a blocking assignment problem), I really like Bech at PR/KR. Our PR/KR coverage is the only thing I still worry a bit over, but it has improved.
