He punted 9 times against Auburn and still averaged nearly 45 yards per punt. I would say that good is an understatement.

We are penalized almost every return. Punting has been inconsistent. And honestly absent a return TD that was called back for a penalty, Bech hasn’t done anything back there except not drop the ball. That should be expected

Seeing stuff like this really makes me want to believe VOLS will win this game. But then I remember this is VOLS we are talking about and there’s always a dick punch on the horizon

Matt House is a star in the making. I like him in the coaching matchup against Heupel's offense. I think we will be able to get crucial stops and turnovers against their offense. LSU's pass rush is the x-factor. I think they will be able to effect the play of the qb.

Our team gets better as the game progresses. Does Tennessee?

Jayden is not perfect, but he is good enough to enable the offense to score points. Is Tennessee's defense any better than State, Auburn, or FSU? I don't think so.

The game is in Tiger Stadium. Even though it's a morning start time, it will still be loud. If it were in Neyland, I'd be a little worried. I think it will be a close hard fought game, but LSU gets it done. I'm just not that impressed with Tennessee. I'm not convinced that they are who people say they are.

I think LSU defense is better than Tenn offense, and LSU offense is struggling but good enough to move on Tenn defense.

LSU: 24
UT: 17

Good question. Tennessee often scores early...but only scored 3 against Florida in the first quarter.

Here is what Tennessee has averaged in scoring by quarter over their first 4 games.

1st Quarter - 10.25
2nd Quarter - 18.25
3rd Quarter - 10.5
4th Quarter - 8.75

So the 2nd quarter is where UT's offense usually starts hitting on all cylinders.

Looking at average points allowed by LSU's defense by quarter you find.

1st quarter - 1.5
2nd quarter - 4.8
3rd quarter - 4.0
4th quarter - 14.8

Tennessee isn't nearly as bad against the pass as everyone believes imo

no, tennessee's defense is awful. pass defense is right at the bottom of the entire country.

Agreed. Their run defense is legit. Their pass defense is ranked 128 out of 131.

LSU has been slow starters most of the season, Tennessee is the first opponent that will make them pay if they can’t come out scoring early.

Unfortunately, this has a good chance of happening. I can see it being 21-0 in the first quarter if we come out like we did against Auburn. If we can keep it close thru the first half, we likely win.

Meh.

Thats the point. Tennessee very rarely, almost never, fails to start fast.

If the Drag Queens are putting all their eggs in that basket, they're in trouble.

I felt like this incredible quote needed a Deep Thoughts with Randall Savage meme background.

The odds are in favor of it, for sure.

They could win if we play really badly and they play really well.

Not sure where 14.8 is coming from.
Aub, NM, & State were all 0s.
Southern was 10.
FSU was 7.

Tennessee had problems with two very average teams.

Pittsburgh. Won in overtime .
LSU would kill Pittsburgh.

This game is going to be close if LSU can throw the ball. I know we will be able to run the ball and keep TN off the field.

Look for a short lease on LSU QB Daniels. After 2 series if he isn't moving the team against a Weak TN secondary, he will be pulled and Garrett will come in.

If you are a TN Fan, you do not want Garrett in the game.
Don't be fooled by his Redshirt Freshman status.
