Alabama went undefeated in 1992
Auburn went undefeated in 2010

They both won a NC. They both won “one”National Championship. Since that’s all Alabama cares about then please explain how the coaches are different?

To be clear Alabama fans were MUCH more unhinged before Saban

Also realize that most of the Bama t-shirt fans who post here did not attend Alabama and didn’t become Bama fans until Saban started winning there. Most of them will now be Ohio State/Georgia/LSU fans. When they aren’t cheering for their beloved Dodgers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Yep. If you live or work in Alabama, you will suddenly notice a dramatic increase in the amount of Auburn attire, license plates and house flags. That's a fact.

When you’ve had the two greatest coaches in the history of the game build dynasties for 25 and 17 years, with more success and national championships sprinkled in for 100 years, you tend to think that’s how it should always be.

It’s not entitlement, especially for us old guard. It’s an expectation that we will be competitive at the highest level of competition and in the conversation for championships most years. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s why Bama has done what it has done.

I don't doubt that Alabama fans have those expectations and beliefs, but to have them is dumb now though.

For all of Alabama's historical success, there is nothing that sets them apart from any other elite program today.

The built in advantage a program got from just being a blue blood was gone by the 2000's. Bama just didn't notice because they had Saban who "protected" the program from any downturn as a result of that. He did the same in the early NIL and portal days. I remember Bama fans here insisting that Bama would never have a mass portal exodus during a coaching change because of their program status and the culture Saban had built.

Today though, Bama is no different and has no more of an advantage than a Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Auburn, Florida etc.

Honestly, it may be a tougher place to succeed right now due to the unrealistic expectations.

Stallings (7 seasons): 70-16-1, 81.4%, 5 SEC West Titles, 1 SEC title, 1 national championship, zero losing seasons

Chizik (4 seasons): 33-19, 63.5%, 1 SEC West Title, 1 SEC title, 1 national title, 1 losing (3-9) season

If you argue there is no difference between the two then you are being insincere and aren’t worth replying to.

This team could still go 11-1.

Whistling past the graveyard, I see. Some of us non-sidewalk fans that lived through the Mike years saw the cracks in coaching last year and got downvoted all over the Bama board.

We were still hoping it was DeBoer needing to learn how intense the SEC is each and every week, and that he would be better prepared this year. He isn’t…it may even be worse. This team is 3 loss minimum, but more likely 4-5 losses. The Mizzou and OK games are going to be brutal this year.

Oh by the way you won’t win another NC while you’re alive. Facts. Alabama is about to become 2000-2022 Tennessee

What makes you think that? Bama has won a National Championship in every decade I’ve been alive except for the first one, and I’m 45. Yes Bama fans are an entitled bunch that act like children when we lose, but you’re a dumbass if you believe that

That's funny.

I remember you defending DeBoer all offseason on the Rant.

When both coaches did it by gaming the system and not being straight out better than the rest, and all of a sudden those loopholes they use are open to everyone, then you can stop with the entitlement.
