Maybe his forward progress was stopped but the whistle hadn't blown and by the time it did he had reached the ball across. The ball crossed the goal line before the whistle blew so it should've been a touchdown.
If they are going to say progress was stopped then why wasn't the whistle blown sooner. I don't understand how you can basically say the play was over before the whistle blew.

Why is no one mentioning how bad Tennessee mismanaged the game clock on that last possession before the end of regulation?

It was a bad call by the official.

It was brought up in other threads and is a legit complaint. Obviously I don't care that tenn lost. Just hate to see bad ref calls. If this was Uconn I'd be the same way.

If it's an SEC ref and it's Alabama, it would be a touchdown.

Got no problem with that and for the record I believe it was a td.

Apparently, the old adage "you play 'til the whistle" is BS.

Foul wasn't called. Let's focus on what was called. I could argue a hundred holds that aren't called or opi that isn't called.
If he was making forward progress, the player wouldn't have been able to pull on him for multiple seconds to start with.
Anyway you want to slice it, it was the correct call.

Doesn’t matter where it happened, it is illegal to pull a player forward with the ball.

It was TD, they have been letting plays go too long all year to me

Tennessee got screwed by the refs all night.
I am SEC homer and those refs were hammering TN and a lot of no calls against Purdue.
I am one that doesn’t blame refs much at all
That call was technically correct but too ok say the ref came running in right at the point of forward progress being stopped is incorrect. He came running in after the play was whistled dead.
