They have to change the illegal men down field penalty. It is currently 3 yards as oppose to the NFL which is one yard. This basically allows you to run block (during the zone read) pull it out of the RBs stomach and throw. It is completely unfair to the defense. I agree with the 10 second rule too.

And when an offense is going as fast as Baylor or Auburn (when they are in the groove) the refs don't have enough time to get set and actually take in what is going on during the play.

I am now for some sort of adjustment. When Saban and Bert tried to make a change, I was really against it last year. But while watching the Ole Miss Auburn game, I realized I hated the track meet. Enjoyed Ole Miss LSU and Ole Miss Bama games 100 times more. Win or lose that Auburn game , I wasn't reallyenjoying that type of game. The defenses have to play a part in the game. Watching Gus's offenses almost gives you a headache. I hate that frantic shite.

Herbstreit for the 10 s rule
Kirk Herbstreit said on EPSN's "Mike and Mike" this morning that they need to implement the 10 second rule. Said "this fast break offense is getting out of hand". Said the defense should be allowed to sub and DC's adjust like football was intended.
I 100% agree with this.

Here's a novel idea:
Use timeouts to stop their drives after they gain momentum.

Such a move could hurt psychologically. Sometimes all time outs do is increase the opposing team's momentum rather than sap it.

If the HUNH is only effective because it forces mismatched defenses to stay on the field.. stop the clock. Or have your linemen commit a penalty on say.. 2nd and 1 then use that time to substitute.

All I see in this thread is a bama fan who's realizing that saban is outdated.

An adequate description of your post. Also since you mention the behavior of a coach on the sideline, who can forget the love scene between little Nicky and mctat after the LSU game last year?

i'm concerned about the officials being able to keep up, seems to me (as proposed earlier in this thread) that adding more officials would make sense...

Damn -Gus has taken over CFB in just 2 yrs.
Maybe we should just ask officials to be fair. If a defense looks tired, just hold the ball a little bit until they get ready. If too many shifts occur - stop play to allow the defense to shift as well. Any offense player running faster than a 4.5 should wear ankle weights. That should just about do it.

Didn't they add an official this year?
I thought they were testing this out this year? Surely the SEC can afford another official! I think this would be a pretty good start.

Why do you sissies want to see the game become basketball on turf?
So when a team leaves your fatasses on defense gasping for air on the turf, the team that did that are the sissies? And not the fatasses?
Interesting.
Please tell me more.

As much as I'm enjoying the extreme Bama bashing going on up in hyah, this is not an unreasonable request.
Tell ya what then, do simple arithmetic that takes less than a split second for those of us who aren't dumbasses.
First play of the drive count the damn players before you allow the snap. 11? OK.
The next play, count the players that go off the field. None? OK they still have 11.
The next play count'em again. 2 went off? 3 came on? BOOM. 12 frickING PLAYERS ON THE FIELD.
This isn't graduate level math-a-fricking-matics we're talking about here.
