re: How many of you baws grew up in Louisiana but moved elsewhere?

Grew up on the West Bank, dropped out of UNO at 18 and joined the Army, came back for 3 years to finish up at LSU at get a ROTC commission.
Ended up in Pennsylvania and really didn’t fit there, got a second bachelors in accounting and found a job in the DC area Bounced around until I got into the civil service and spent 19 years in the Pentagon.
Came to Vicksburg as it was the closest place to NOLA I could get a job in grade. Then moved to Ridgeland and built the house I’m in now. Any moves from here would likely be either Bay St Louis or Ocean Springs.

morning again everyone, getting ready to take Mrs Butch over to the dental surgeon for her temporary teeth. She had big time oral surgery yesterday taking out her remaining teeth and putting in a bunch of implant posts.
Was a rough go for her.

I hit 100% in May and it took me 15 years to get there.
Bottom line, I started out with a bunch of 0's which meant any worsening would be service connected.
My retirement physical ended with the words; "COL Butch, you are no longer medically qualified for military service." Age 55 with over 35 years active and reserve service, closest I came to getting killed was a 90 minute time gap on 9/11 in the Pentagon.
Started out with a 40% disability with a whole bunch of 0%s. Knowing what I know now, I should have immediately appealed my feet which would have kicked me over the 50% rating where I would not have had the VA payment deducted from my military retirement.
Anyway, a couple of years later, I went to have my 0% knee looked at. Doc takes one look at me and tells me that the money was in my feet. So I filed a second claim on my feet. At that time I got a 30% rating on my feet and a 10% rating on my other knee, taking me to 70%
When the PACT act came in I refiled for my heart. Ended up with a 30% rating which took me to a 90% overall rating.
Then the rough one going from 90 to 100...refiled on my feet as they were really getting bad and on the right arm trifecta (wrist, elbow, and shoulder).
Went to 50 on the feet, 20 on the right shoulder, 10 on the wrist, and 10 on the elbow. Throw in the bilateral factor and I was right at the 95 I needed for ther 100% rating, total and permanent as it was clear there would be no improvement on a 73 year old military retiree veteran.

Odd place for ne to comment, but Nuss lost me for good at the end of the first half. He shouldn’t have thrown the ball to stop the clock. He could have held onto it and continued to let the clock run, thereby hopefully taking a scoring opportunity away from Alabama.

Hopefully the rest of the US will ready their pork based bullet lube and have a source for funeral pig carcasses (see John Pershing during the Moro Rebellion)
