AJ Brown will be a top 10 draft pick in spring 2019. He's not transferring to sit out a year. DK Metcalf's dad played at Ole Miss and he graduated from Oxford High School.

Shea Patterson and Greg Little are as good as gone.

Seriously. Ole Miss's sugar bowl team won NINE games

The CFP ruined the Sugar Bowl prestige

Vecchio, we got off easy.

That's relative to whatever you were expecting.
15% scholarship reductions nd loss of another bowl year and the $8 million that brings is not easy.

Y'all won the Rant , for sure though

You guys are really trying to find some silver lining in all of this aren't you?

there doesn;t really need to be a silver lining. Your head coach got fired, the investigation lasting 3 years was more or less probation, then the NCAA tacked on another year for good measure. Ole Miss will be pretty devoid of talent this time next year when all your juniors that don't transfer declare for the draft. Ole Miss finished only above Missouri and Vandy recruiting last year and currently sit 2nd to last in the SEC this year.

If anyone is looking for a silver lining, it's Ole Miss fans, per the usual. But you're right, there is no silver lining. The Ole Miss program got flushed back down the toilet.

while I do think Shea leaves, both of them will have to sit out a year if they do.

With a waiver they would not have to sit. Go read some national media on twitter and they are saying the same thing.

so who's going to throw to Metcalf and Brown? Who's going to protect that QB?

Ta'amu and every other offensive lineman not named Greg Little

It's one more bowl ban
The big hit there is that Ole Miss will not receive a share of the conference bowl proceeds and Ole Miss's allotment will be distributed among the other 13 schools. That's a significant financial penalty that not only punishes Ole Miss but rewards other schools, too. In other words, this increases the money received by every other bowl-eligible team in the SEC for two years.

In 2015, that was a $1.5-$2 million check, or so.

a 2 year bowl ban, scholarships losses, show causes and vacated wins isn't a slap on the wrist. I don't know where this narrative is coming from.

Where you around in the 90's. I am just asking. Institutions use to get 50 total scholarship reductions not 24. Which last a total of 5 years. 2 year tv bans, 3 to 4 year bowl bands. These penalties are at the very minimum half that for much more then what they use to do. Institutions got these penalties off of paying just one player.

Just find someone that can throw the ball in the vicinity of Brown

I'm sorry man, but when you get hit with academic fraud, LOIC, FTM, pay-for-play, and called out for a culture of corruption and your penalty is 13 scholarships, a couple of bowl games, and some $$....yeah, you won.

I was, and no they didn't. Auburn's penalties were among the most severe in the 90s. They got a 2 year TV/bowl ban and like 10 scholarships reduced over 4 years. The big penalties back then were the TV bans. Washington, same thing. They got a bowl/tv ban and 10 scholarship reduction over 2 years. No one was getting 50 scholarships over 5 years.
