Antwuan Jackson Jr. wants to possibly transfer to South Carolina, but Auburn will not allow it.

There's also one other school Auburn has restricted the former Tigers defensive lineman from pursuing after he was granted a release by Gus Malzahn: Ohio State.

"This is so unfair how there (sic) blocking me from a school that recruited me out of school," Jackson tweeted Tuesday. "So inconsistent with their transfer restrictions."

Ohio State is the only Big Ten school on the list of schools Auburn has banned Jackson from pursuing per his release, according to Jackson.

Jackson's appeal to loosen transfer restrictions was denied by Auburn late last week, according to The State newspaper.

“My question was: Why are they blocking Ohio State for no reason?” Jackson told the publication June 1. “They just put Ohio State on there for no reason. My question to them is why are they blocking me from a Big Ten school when they don’t have anything to do with Big Ten schools? Why didn’t they block me from Michigan or Indiana or any other Big Ten school? Why would they do that immediately?”

Auburn has blocked Jackson from transferring to an other SEC school, Mercer, Clemson and Georgia Southern.

Seems kind of random on Auburn's part to me. I get the future opponents thing, but why Ohio State? Any Auburn fans have insight to this deal?

He will have to sit one year, right? Maybe AU feels they'll be in the playoffs next year and don't want him going to a school that they expect will also be there. Or maybe Gus hates Urb (not exactly an exclusive club in coaching circles) and doesn't want the kid to go help him.

If a team isn't on your schedule though, I can't really understand why you wouldn't release the kid other than an expectation to play them in playoffs/bowl game.

I be irked if he had graduated and we blocked him to someone off the schedule. I am surprised they limited it to just the teams we are playing this year

If that was the case why didn't they include USCw, Washington and Florida State?

I wasn't implying it was wrong, I was just curious why they only put Ohio State on the list. Personal beef between Gus and Urban?

I don't see the problem? Are you saying Saban doesn't put restrictions on transfers?

I think he was trying to point out the hypocrisy of some of the Auburn posters. If this had been Alabama it would be all over this site and others.

Not really. I just came across it while looking for stuff on the recruit Justin Fields.

I just found it strange they would only block Ohio State out of all the non-opponent schools out there.

Now we all know this is true.

I think the main thing that has his family pissed is that Marlon Character was allowed to transfer at the exact same time with no restrictions and Auburn decided to block Jackson's transfer. Absolutely within their right to do so but it is kind of a dick move given the circumstances.

Its only wrong when Saban does it. Otherwise this young man is learning a life lesson.

It's a life lesson. Kid made a commitment. Should stick to it. Auburn has invested time and resources into him. Now if something had changed at Auburn, new coach, new offense or defense. I get it. Let him go.

It's strange. I have no inside knowledge, but being that it is so random, it makes me wonder if OSU had contact with Jackson before he decided to transfer.
