It shouldn't be shocking that Bama lost. They struggled in some games last year.

Now they are struggling at the QB position which they haven't done in years and they have paid the price on Saturday.

Alabama has carried the SEC for so long that it will take time for fans to get used to the new order in the league and college football.

I was not impressed by Alabama in any phase of the game.

The SEC has won the last 4 playoffs. Bama won one of those. What’s this new order?

As the SEC will be limited to ESPN,
week 2 ratings aren't in yet - but LSU/FSU was on - wait for it -

and was the most watched game of the weekend with a 4.7 rating and 9.7M viewers

there will be at least 2 games on ABC each weekend when the full contract kicks in in 2024 -

the big1t8en came in 3rd last week for it's most watched game -

They certainly haven't done Ohio State's offense any favors.

it isn't that they lost. It's how they lost. bama never gets pushed around. Texas did that.

Nice try but it has already been reported on this forum how Ohio State set a ratings record on CBS for their timeslot vs. of all teams, Indiana.

The top 2 games should have drawn more considering their time and competition.

If it's hurting BAMA why wouldn't it hurt Georgia too? Does Georgia have richer, more active boosters?

Because Saban lives and dies by playing with a loaded deck. He did this at LSU and even more so at Bama. Pre-NIL is was getting the top half of the top 100. Now with NIL, there is more parity and talent is spread out. Kids he would have snatched up are staying in their state to play for $$$ (South Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, etc). Saban has never been a supporter of NIL, I just think he's older and not willing to play the game as much as other schools. Now he still gets great classes but not the ELITE classes he was racking up year after year with 5-stars backing up 5-stars at every position.

you were lied to -

here's the truth

https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/

sportsmediawatch has long been the authority on such things -

the 330 slot on CBS has seen plenty more games with viewers of more than 4.65M

Recruits see those free Championship games every year. The one that the SEC dominates.

If that’s the case then the future powerhouses of college football will be Rutgers, University of Illinois, Boston College, Temple, SMU, TCU, University of Houston,, USC, UCLA, and Cal.

I guess I can see that, I know Saban used to really tick me off when he would roll into Texas last minute before signing day, no doubt with a bag full of money, and pick off some good player already committed to Texas or leaning to Texas. Going to be harder to do that crap now when one of Texas Boosters is in the way with a bigger NIL deal..I find it funny though that Saban would be against NIL when they haven't played by the rules in years, maybe it's just cause he knows BAMA don't have the resources to compete with Texas Boosters.

Texas seemed like they wanted that game more.

Bama wasn't fired up at all and the fans didn't provide much noise.
