It warms my heart knowing LSU put the first nails in their coffin of decline in 2001 and the final nails in 2007...they have never recovered...

Ok I see in your drug fueled mentality, Joe Blow polls allow for “unclaimed titles” to be claimed when 99% of the other polls AND the agreed upon championship game have already crowned a winner.

In twenty years, when LSU has regressed (let's be clear, 2003 to 2019 was an anomaly) and Tennessee is back in business, this thread will look even sillier than it does now.

I love how you gloss over how LSU absolutely destroyed Tennessee in the 2001 SEC Championship game and stole your shot at the national championship game. A GLORIOUSLY butthurt omission.

2001 clearly wasn’t an anomaly

Tennessee is surrounded by Bama, UGA and Clemson. The top recruits in that area are heading there. Tennessee is a dead program. SEC Nebraska

Again, your ire should be directed towards the NCAA if you take umbrage with their major selectors.

I can see that you’re very new to the college sports landscape despite having belonged to this forum for over a decade, so you’ll be in for a treat when you read up on concepts like the “mythical national championship” and become privy to the myriad issues created by FBS football being the only sport for which the NCAA doesn’t directly award a national championship.

The curse of Fulmer is not because the way he was treated it is karma for how dirty he was while at Tennessee and got off scott free.

Dude I’m not denying that some years are controversial but for you to include 2011 LSU on the list makes you sound like a crack head.

It would be disingenuous for me to not list 2011 as an unclaimed national title!

Tennessee’s a has been like Nebraska, USC, etc. They might have a decent season here and there, but they’ll never return to their former glory.

In my opinion, LSU has passed Tennessee. I think Florida has passed Tennessee too. Georgia does a great job of winning games but just not enough titles but they’ve had a much better 21st century.

Has LSU passed Tennessee in terms of Tradition.

Has LSU been better this century?

But the 20th century counts too and UT won 6. I love to pick at UT but tradition means all time. Has LSU passed UT yet?
