COLUMBIA — Curtis Simms, an Alabama football fan involved in an ill-fated confrontation with a University of South Carolina fan after a 2010 game, will spend the next five years in state prison.Judge Diane Goodstein on Tuesday sentenced the 27-year-old Columbia man to 10 years in prison – suspended to five years. A half-hour earlier, a Richland County jury found Simms guilty of breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature – a seldom-used common law charge that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.

Way too many gumps are just fricking nuts.

Q: Would it be beneficial to gump nation as a whole if bama football never existed? On one hand, their self esteem takes a nosedive, but on the other they might actually find something else more worthwhile to derive self esteem from.

Just a thought. Obviously does not apply to all gumps.

nah after the pics from walmart and al.com i actually feel like its best that bama has all of its titles. if they didn't who knows what kind of destruction their trash would cause.

the 10-15% of good bammers get to enjoy the titles.

Did you even read the story? It was a freak accident. His friend was actually the one that killed him. The kid was asking for a fight, got punched, and his friend ran over him. Sure, the Bama fan should have ignored his shite talking obviously, but if you think that he was trying to murder someone, then you are dumb. Just a fricked up situation all around.

If football never existed then we'd all be playing soccer like the rest of the world. What would you do if you woke up in that world tomorrow?

now I'm busy imagining a world where.... hell, same teams, same college and pro structure, same players, same coaches, logos and cities.... but all soccer. And we'd be as dominant as USA basketball is in the World Cup scene.

Football sort of exists, but everyone regards it as too expensive, complicated and violent to be taken seriously

Then southern football as a whole might have developed much differently.
